Don’t look now but one of the best trades of the deadline might have been the Mavericks bringing in Nerlens Noel. He and the Mavs are an excellent play tonight against a suddenly struggling Thunder.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks

After two straight losses to subpar teams, the Thunder are heading to Dallas for a game against a suddenly recharged Mavs team. With the addition of Nerlens Noel, the Mavs get an athletic rebounder and rim protector that along with the potential return of Wesley Matthews tonight, could signal a rebirth of the Dallas defense.

The Mavs have covered in four straight games and in those four they are allowing just 93 points per game. Now that they might be getting Matthews back, they could still win this game if they shut down every other Thunder player other than Russell Westbrook.

On top of that, Victor Oladipo is still not with the team, which takes away most of the Thunder’s diversity on offense. The addition of Doug McDermott is nice, but the Mavs can counter him and Enes Kanter off the bench and keep this team either below 100 points or not very far over it.

If they can do that I think Dallas wins this game. They are getting great bench scoring from Seth Curry, who is playing better than his brother over the last week or two. Plus, the Thunder are only 13-18 ATS this season on the road, so I expect them to lose here as well for my NBA picks.
