The Chicago Bulls have come out of the gates this NBA season well winning their first two games while Brooklyn has been competitive in their first three. Today these two teams meet in Brooklyn and NBA odds have the fast-paced Chicago Bulls a decent road favorite, but can Brooklyn hang within the number?

Chicago Bulls

In their first two games of the year, Chicago's averaging 111.5 points per game while allowing 100 points a game which ranks them second and ninth in the NBA respectively. What has impressed me most about this Chicago team is the fact that they have been knocking down shots from distance efficiently averaging 43.5% which ranks them first in the NBA. As well, with Rondo at the helm they been distributing the ball very well ranking first in averaging 29.5 assists per game.

The issue I have though with Chicago is the same issue I had with them last year is their lack on the defensive end although so far they've looked a bit better than last season. Still, they are allowing opponents a 54% effective field-goal percentage which ranks them second to last in the league. Although they have more talent than Brooklyn, and they should win this game, the way the Nets have played I believe there is value in fading this team their first game on the road.

Brooklyn Nets

In their first three games of the year Brooklyn is averaging 109.3 points per game while allowing 108.7 points per game ranking them ninth and 21st in the league respectively. This team has been a lot more competitive than I anticipated and head coach Kenny Atkinson has done a nice job so far. In their one home contest, they stormed back versus Indiana with a 31-15 fourth quarter to win the game by nine. What I like about this Brooklyn team is the fact that they have even scoring across the board with six guys right now averaging double figures along with three others averaging over eight points per game. Although they are not deeply talented they're getting the most out of what they got and I expect for them to give Chicago all they want. As the season progresses though their lack of talent most likely will come back to haunt them.

Oddsmakers have come out making Chicago a -6 favorite across the board. Considering the projection of these two teams this line seems rather small but I'm going to back Brooklyn +6 for my NBA pick like at Pinnacle sports -105, an A+ rated sportsbook. Expect them to take the Bulls to the wire.
