It’s once again that time of the week, and with only two NBA games on tonight, let’s parlay together our two NBA Picks to add some value. Tonight’s NBA Odds are looking good, so follow along as I try and go 2-0 tonight!

Cavs vs. Thunder
Easily the best game of the night is Lebron James and the Cavs heading into Oklahoma City to play Kevin Durant and the Thunder. Durant is still on his minutes restriction, however the NBA Odds still have the Thunder as -3 favorites, with a total of 204 ½. However even with Durant only allowed 30 minutes, Russell Westbrook is going to dominate Kyrie Irving tonight. The matchup won’t even be close, and it’s an immediate advantage to the Thunder. While they haven’t played one another in a while, if Westbrook was healthy this summer, he would have started over Irving and Stephen Curry for Team USA.

However tonight, I can’t bring myself to wager on either of these clubs ATS. That leaves our NBA Odds pick to the total of 204 ½, and even with the Cavs’ defense not at its’ best, they have been getting better, and I think the under could be the play tonight partially because if that Cavs’ defense.

While it may not be for the entire game, like his Miami teams before, James and the Cavs turn on the defense in the 4th quarter, and it’s starting to show recently. Twice in the last four games they have given up 14 or fewer points in the 4th, and because of that, in their last four 4th quarters, the Cavs are giving up an average of only 19 points per game.

Combine that with the Thunder, who have cashed the under in 22 of their last 30 games, and in six of their last seven home games, and I am going with the under on a very inflated total.

Rockets vs. Kings
The Rockets are coming off of a loss in Golden State last night, and they have to head across the Bay to play the Kings this evening. Despite the Houston back to back, the NBA Odds have them as -1 road favorites tonight in Sacramento, with a total of 196. While the spread is virtually untouchable, the total is once again poking its’ head out with some value, and at 196, despite both teams playing much improved defense, the over looks like a solid wager.

The over is 20-8 for the Rockets coming off of a SU loss, and with both teams still missing their star big men, there is going to be zero shot blocking or post defense tonight for either team. Combine that with the tired legs of the Rockets after last night’s tough game, and you have a recipe for the over. Not too mention the total is a point or two too low at 196.

The reason these two teams have been better defensively this season is mostly because of Dwight Howard and DeMarcus Cousins, however with those two missing tonight, the score will go up. Without Cousins for the last seven games, the Kings are giving up an average of 103 points per game, and without Howard the Rockets are giving up 98 points per game (Houston has given up 102 points per game in their last six). Add the over to your NBA Picks tonight.
