In seasons past this would typically be a superstar showdown, but it would be very surprising if the Thunder don't stroll to a win in Los Angeles tonight. Check out which way we're leaning with our sports picks.

Odds Overview

Oklahoma City will come in favored by 11.5 points, though an NBA betting line of 12 can also be found if you shop around the different sportsbooks. The total ranges from 205.5 all the way up to 207.

On the year the Thunder are killing it at 42-12 SU, while also going a profitable 32-22 ATS. The Lakers are 18-34 SU but have been pretty solid (27-24-1) against the spread.

Oklahoma City Thunder

There's no questioning who the best team in the Western Conference is right now. The Thunder continue to play extremely well-rounded basketball and have built up a 3.5-game lead on the Spurs in the standings.

It was weird to see them drop that road game in Orlando last week, but they've responded by beating the Knicks (112-100) at home and the Trail Blazers (98-95) on the road. The Thunder cashed as favorites in both victories.

In the win over Portland, Kevin Durant put on another show, scoring 36 points on 15-of-28 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds. He did have eight turnovers, but it was still a terrific offensive performance from the superstar.

Durant got help from Reggie Jackson (17/6/5) and Jeremy Lamb (19 points and five boards) , with Oklahoma City shooting 48.2 percent overall and 50.0 percent from three. They were also an impressive 91.7 percent from the charity stripe.

The win pushed the Thunder to 19-9 SU on the road, which is the second-best record in the NBA behind only San Antonio. Another victory tonight appears very likely.

Los Angeles Lakers

As if things couldn't get any worse, the Lakers defied the odds by getting blown out by Utah at home two nights ago. Los Angeles was a two-point favorite but lost by 17 points in the end.

Practically the only highlight was Chris Kaman, who had 25 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in the loss. Wesley Johnson and Shawne Williams were the only other Lakers to hit double figures, as the team shot a miserable 38.8 percent overall.

Injuries have just crippled Mike D'Antoni's team this season. Steve Nash is the latest casualty, as he's once again dealing with limitations after just returning to action a week ago. He had to leave Tuesday's game early.

Along with Nash, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Jodie Meeks, Nick Young, Jordan Farmar and Xavier Henry remain out. Steve Blake, who's been dealing with an arm injury, is probable to suit up and play tonight.

The Lakers certainly need as many bodies back as they can get, as they get ready to host Durant and the Thunder. D'Antoni's squad has gone 8-15 SU and 11-11-1 ATS inside Staples Center this season.

NBA Pick

Barring a total letdown from the Thunder on both sides of the ball, they should get past the Lakers with ease tonight.

Los Angeles is simply so shorthanded that we can't justify taking them as one of our NBA picks right now. They've also lost six consecutive games at home, while covering the spread in only one of those contests.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma City is on fire right now and has gone a rock-solid 17-11 ATS on the road this season. Look for the Thunder to control this game from start to finish, leading to a cashed ticket for their backers.

NBA Pick: Thunder -11.5
