We are at 8-6 in our last 14 NBA Prop picks in these playoffs, and I am back with another three player props from Bovada sportsbook.
Dwyane Wade O/U 9.5 rebounds and assists
This could very easily be chasing last game’s results, but back at home, I think the Heat know the formula for beating the Hornets. They need to play tough defense to start, but they also need Dwyane Wade as a double threat. Goran Dragic hasn’t been anything close to a facilitator in this series, and instead they have needed his shooting while Wade is handling and distributing the ball. That culminated into 10 assists for Wade in Game 4, and I think he should have another five or six in tonight’s game.
Wade has had three games in this series with at least seven assists, and even though Game 3 he only had one, nobody on the Heat could make a shot in that game. Now back at home, where the Heat have scorched the Hornets from the perimeter, I expect Wade’s assists numbers to carry this prop to an over. As long as he can grab three or four rebounds, this one should be an easy NBA pick.
The Pick: OVER 9.5 (-125)
Austin Rivers O/U 20.5 points, rebounds and assists
In case you haven’t noticed in this series, Damian Lillard is still not a great defender, however, now that Chris Paul is out, he will likely have to matchup up with Austin Rivers. While Rivers is still an ascending player, he has done very well in his last two spot starts for Chris Paul, and with the pace that I expect tonight to be played at, Rivers should have plenty of opportunities to score.
Plus, even though Jamal Crawford will have the ball in his hands a lot, I expect those two to split ball-handling duties. In the last two times Paul has missed, Rivers had nine total assists and rebounds in each game. While Crawford missed the last game of the regular season as well, he had seven assists in the game on the 31st of March against the Thunder.
However, while Crawford’s points, rebounds and assists total is 27 ½, the value is with the over on Rivers, who should see almost as many shots tonight. He should also chip in three or four rebounds and assists, so as long as he scores in double figures, I and the NBA odds makers expect Rivers to cash the over on this one.
The Pick: OVER 20.5 (-115)
Shaun Livingston O/U 21.5 points, rebounds and assists
Speaking of back up point guard poised for big nights, Shaun Livingston is being asked to step up again here tonight. The pride of Peoria, Illinois is poised for a big night as well. Patrick Beverley’s defense will be no match for the oversized point guard, and even in just 23 minutes in the Game 4 blowout win, Livingston had nine total assists.
If he is dishing that well again here in Game 5, he should score well into double figures. His points prop is 12, so assuming he gets around that, he should cash this one with ease.
Livingston has always been a very good rebounding guard, so as long as he can grab another four or five like the last two games, this one is also a great over play here tonight.
The Pick: OVER 21.5 (-115)
