After another perfect night of NBA Picks on Tuesday, here on Wednesday evening the volume of NBA odds has increased dramatically, and I have found my two best bets for the evening’s selections.

Pelicans vs. Rockets
The Pelicans played last night and got beat at home by a Memphis team that completely took over the game in the second half. Memphis held the Pelicans to less than 40 points in the second half last night, after giving up 65 points in the first. The Pelicans got back Tyreke Evans last night and while he was on a minutes restriction, it remains to be seen whether he has clearance to play those same minutes again on a back to back. Assuming he doesn’t, and with the fact that the Pelicans will be tired, the Rockets as -4 home favorites seem like a no brainer.

Even though the Rockets have had a slow start to the season, the Pelicans are on the same boat. These two teams rank 28th and 30th in points allowed this season, and even though the total is interesting at 212, the Rockets ATS seems like a better play. If you have to choose amongst two bad teams, it’s better to lay the points with the better and rested team. Houston has covered their last two games against the Pelicans dating back to last season, and considering they are 1-10 ATS at home this season, it’s gotten to the point where they have become too undervalued.

Nuggets vs. Bulls
The Bulls are a team that almost always plays up or down to their competition. That narrative rang true again the other night against the Spurs, as the Bulls played tough the entire game to get the big win. However, this is the same Bulls team that has been blown out by the Hornets and beaten in overtime at home against the Wolves. After a big and emotional win against San Antonio, the Bulls might relax a little big here against Denver. The NBA odds favor the Bulls at -10 at some shops, with a total of 196½. With such a large spread, and with the chance the Bulls relax a bit to start this long home stand, the total is where I am looking to place a wager tonight.

Chicago is playing at the 8th fastest pace in the NBA right now, but they have cashed the under in all seven home games this season. This is because their pace and efficiency on offense has come down at home, as does their Defensive Efficiency of 94.9. While the total has been plummeting because of this, I believe the sportsbooks and sharps are overthinking this one. Five of Chicago’s seven home games so far this season have come against teams in the bottom half of the league in pace, and even though they are giving up only 94.7 points per game at home, this is also the type of game where they could relax and let the Nuggets hang around longer than they should.

Chicago is only 2-5 ATS this season at home, and with the total plummeting, and against a team giving up 104 points per game, I could easily see the over as the best NBA pick for this one. The last three times these two teams have played one another, the total has gone over, and Chicago is averaging nearly 111 points per game in those three. Don’t overthink this one just because the Bulls are 0-7 cashing the over at home to start the season. Five of those games where against teams in the Top 11 in Defensive Efficiency. The Nuggets are not one of those teams.
