It’s a short card here in a Monday night but there are still some nice NBA Odds value to choose from. Below are two of my best bets for tonight’s games.

Hawks vs. Knicks
These two teams are in the midst of a home and home, and after the Haws beat down the Knicks on Saturday, now they play one another again tonight, this time in Madison Square Garden. The Hawks won 103-96 behind the hot shooting of Kyle Korver, and tonight Atlanta is favored on the road at -1 ½ in the NBA Odds, with a total of 196 ½. Even though the spread might not be a bad play, the total is where I am focusing my attention tonight. With the Knicks are struggling on offense this season trying to implement the triangle, the Hawks may be able to play good enough defense to cash the under tonight.

The Knicks at 2-5 SU have not scored 100 points in a game this season, and I doubt it will start tonight. While they aren’t great on defense, the Hawks have been improved in that area from last season. With Al Horford back patrolling the middle and getting his legs under him, the Hawks have been better than expected on defense. If it weren’t for a bad effort on opening night against the Raptors, and an overtime game last week that inflated their points against averages, the Hawks’ defense is not that bad.

With that being said, the under looks like the play here. The under is 3-1-1 in the Knicks last five games as home underdogs in NBA odds dating back to last season, and the under is 8-2 for the Hawks in their last ten games following a SU win.

Spurs vs. Clippers
The late game tonight should be just as entertaining as it is valuable, as the Spurs head into Los Angeles to play the Clippers. The NBA Odds have the Spurs as a +2 ½ underdog with a total of 202, and while the Clippers might not be a bad play here against the defending champs, I am once again ignoring the spread and going with a play on the total. Neither one of these teams are going to play defense against one another, and their game logs against one another last year prove that. The last five times these two have played the total has gone over, and in all five of those games, the average total was two points higher than tonight’s.

In those five games the Spurs are averaging over 108 points per game, while the Clippers have scored over 100 points in three of those five games. Also, dating back to last season, the over has cashed in four of the last five games that the Clippers have had a day of rest in between games. We should see an up and down game tonight between these two teams, and while it remains to be seen who will be the big scorer in this game, both teams have plenty of firepower. Take the over and add it to your NBA picks.
