Just a few points separated us from a big night in our NBA Picks of the day last night. However, Wednesday brings a huge slate of NBA Odds for us to choose from tonight.

Bulls vs. Magic
Both the Bulls and Magic played last night on the road and both had to travel a pretty good distance to Orlando for their game against one another tonight. The NBA Odds have the Magic as -4 favorites in this one, but the total of 210 points is by far the better wager for this game. Derrick Rose made his return last night which made me lay off my under play on the Bulls last night, (and for good reason apparently) and now with both teams coming off the back to back, this game could be a really high scoring. While it hasn’t been announced whether or not Rose will play on no rest or be on another minutes restriction, the total of 210 is too low regardless because of how fast these two teams have been playing.

I touched on it last night with our winning pick on the Magic and Mavs’ total, but since the trade deadline and All Star Break, the Magic have ramped up the tempo a lot, and for some reason, the sportsbooks have been slow to take notice. While they weren’t at a pace of above 100 last night, the Magic have still played at a pace of 100 or more in five of their last seven games, and tonight against a Bulls’ team that is also playing faster, the over looks like a lock for this one.

Combined these two teams have cashed the over at 15-7 this season when playing on no rest, and for the Magic, their faster pace has turned into the over cashing in six of their last seven games. The Bulls have been pretty good to over bettors recently as well, cashing the over at 4-2 in their last six games. The Magic are also giving up over 114 points per game during that seven game stretch, so before the total starts to go up, take the over and add it to your NBA Picks.

Pistons vs. Spurs
One of the better inter-conference games on this evening is the Pistons heading into San Antonio to play the Spurs. The NBA Odds makers have the Spurs as -11 favorites, with a total of 201 ½. Detroit stumbled out of the All Star Break losing two straight games, but have quickly rebounded by winning four straight games SU, including big wins over the top two teams in the Eastern Conference, the Cavs and the Raptors.

Now the Pistons have one of the ultimate tests any team could face, a road game in San Antonio. However, while the Pistons have improved a lot with the acquisition of Tobias Harris, the sportsbooks don’t seem to be giving them much of a chance tonight against the Spurs. Even though San Antonio is still without Manu Ginobili, the fact that they are -11 favorites against a team that is seemingly gaining momentum is a little surprising.

Detroit already played the Spurs close once this season back in Detroit before they acquired Harris, and tonight, even though this game is in Texas, the Spurs might have trouble covering against the upstart Pistons. Detroit is 11-9 ATS this season when playing as a road underdog, and even though the Spurs have been fantastic at home as favorites at 19-9 ATS, and even though San Antonio is coming off of three days rest, (8-3 ATS when on 2-3 days rest this season) as +11 underdogs, I think the Pistons can keep this one inside single digits and cover the spread.
