Sunday NBA Matinee Affair
The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers will meet for fourth time on Sunday afternoon. The opening tip at the Staples Center in Los Angeles is slated for 3:35 PM ET. At the time of this writing, NBA betting odds at 5Dimes indicates that Golden State is a 7.0 point favorite, and the posted total is 219.0. Golden State is 3-0 SU&ATS in the season series between these NBA Pacific Division rivals. The Warriors won those contests by a decisive 23.7 points per game. All of those encounters stayed under the total, and there was a combined average of 199.7 points scored per game.

Bad to Worse for Lakers
The Lakers are coming off a 106-77 home blowout loss to Atlanta on Friday night. It was a pretty dim situation going into the game for Los Angeles, and the final score pretty much exemplified why. They were without their top three scorers due to injuries. Kobe Bryant (16.8 PPG), Jordan Clarkson (15.6 PPG), and Lou Williams (15.3 PPG) all sat out while nursing various ailments. Considering the Lakers only average 97.5 points per game to start with, it was an insurmountable task to overcome against a quality opponents. Bryant, Clarkson, and Williams combine to average 47.7 points per game, and that means Los Angeles was without (48.9%) of their scoring. All three players are listed as questionable today against an opponent on pace to break a NBA record for most wins in a season. The Lakers have now lost ten of its last eleven games, and have a NBA Western Conference worst 12-51 season record.

The Beat goes on for Golden State
The defending NBA World Champion Warriors are coming off a 121-106 home win over Oklahoma City on Thursday night. That was their seventh win in a row, and improved its already astounding record to 55-5. The Warriors have been an offensive juggernaut all season long, and expounded upon that even more over their previous five games. During that time frame, they’ve averaged 119.8 points per game, and shot a sizzling hot 49.2%. Golden State is an outstanding three point shooting team which has made 41.7% of its attempts this season. Those eye-popping offensive numbers are unlikely to slow down today. They’ll be facing a Lakers team which has allowed 112.8 points per game, 50.6% shooting from the field, and a 43.7% conversion rate on three pointers during its previous five contests.

Final Take and Pick
The Lakers would have a huge hill to climb today even without their injury situation. Currently looking at the NBA odds boards, 5Dimes is the only sportsbook that has posted a line on this contest, and they’ve placed limitations on how much money can be wagered (circled) for the obvious reasons I already touched upon. From a pure betting value standpoint, the best betting option in my professional opinion, and relative to this current total, is to bank on a low scoring game. I would advise betting conservatively when considering this game as one of your Sunday NBA Picks.
