The Saturday slate of NBA action brings about almost as many games, and almost as much value in the NBA Odds as well. Here are my two best bets for Saturday night.

Wizards vs. Hawks
Washington is coming off a horrible loss to the Celtics up in Boston, and then they had to hop on a place and travel all the way down to Atlanta for tonight’s contest. The Hawks also played last night, as they took care of the Pelicans despite a huge game from Anthony Davis, so when it comes to the back to back, the Wizards almost surely got in later last night that the Hawks. On top of that, Washington is being incredibly overvalued here in this spot as four point dogs. I mentioned before the season I thought the Wizards were going to be an overvalued team ATS because of their successes over the last two years, and after last night they are 3-2 SU, but just 2-3 ATS.

Washington also has little in regards to defense when it comes to the Hawks frontcourt. With the addition of Tiago Splitter, the Hawks have been utilizing a large frontcourt, which is normally the advantage the Wizards bring to the table. However, tonight at home, the Hawks might be able to beat the Wizards several ways, including in the paint, and from outside. While the Wizards should win the backcourt battle, John Wall has not been great to start the season, and last night Kyle Korver went off. No word yet on whether Korver will play or sit on the second half of a back to back, but either way it goes tonight, the Hawks laying only four points looks like the best NBA Pick.

My NBA Pick: Hawks -4

Pelicans vs. Mavericks
While New Orleans lost to the Hawks last night, the Mavs were off and sleeping in their own beds in preparation for tonight’s game. The NBA Odds makers have the Mavs as -5 favorites going into this one, and with Tyreke Evans still out for the Pelicans, the line is somewhat justified. However, I still think it’s a few points too high. At this point in the season, back to backs don’t mean as much as they would in January or February, so with a young team like New Orleans, I doubt it matters a whole lot tonight. On top of that, the Pelicans are better than what they have been showing, and if you watched last night’s game between them and the Hawks, you would have seen Davis absolutely murder the Hawks in the second half.

If he can pull out something like that here in Dallas, and sustain it for the whole game, the Pelicans hold a lot of value here as +5 underdogs. The Pelicans are being undervalued for many reasons, but the main one might be that they have yet to win a game ATS or SU, which is a pretty poor club to be in. However, its not that they are bad, they have just played some stiff competition to start the season, and it’s been amplified without Evans. Tonight against a substandard Mavs team, I really like the Pelicans to break out of their slump, cover the spread, and possibly even win the game SU.
