We have another large card tonight as the weekend NBA games come into focus. There are eight more games tonight after a Friday night with 13, and I have found two more NBA Picks that are worthy of an add to yours.

Lakers vs. Bobcats

The Lakers sure got the short end of the scheduling stick this weekend, because after getting demolished by the Thunder last night, the Lakers have to go all the way to Charlotte for a game with the Bobcats tonight. Charlotte also played on the road last night, however their game was much more competitive, as they hung in with the Pacers until the very end.

Tonight, the NBA Odds favor the Cats at -3, however the total of 197 ½ is much more inviting to me. After both teams played last night on the road, the over seems like great value. Both teams will be tired, and I see it limiting the amount of defense either team plays this evening.

The Lakers’ season averages for road defense got worse last night, as they gave up 122 points to the Thunder. This took the Lakers’ road defensive average to nearly 109 points per game given up on the road. The Bobcats have been improving their scoring steadily this season, and especially at home, they tend to turn things up quickly.

The Bobcats are actually a few points worse on defense at home opposed to playing on the road, and I think they will show some tired legs tonight. Even though they play slower than most teams, the Lakers are likely going to force the Cats to run tonight.

The total has gone over in five of the Lakers’ last six road games, and even though they don’t have a true point guard right now, the return of Kobe Bryant will solve that for the time being. I see a higher scoring game tonight, so take the over for your free NBA picks.

Hawks vs. Knicks

Another two teams that played last night are in action on Saturday, as the Hawks head into Madison Square Garden to play the Knicks. The NBA Odds have the Knicks as +1 home underdogs, but once again I am more focused on the total, which sits at 193 ½. After both teams played last night and had long travel to tonight’s game, I see the over once again having value.

The Hawks give up around 100 points per game when playing on the road, and much like the Cats above, the Knicks play worse defense at home than they do on the road. Overall this season the Knicks are giving up around 97 points per game, however at home, that number jumps to over 101 points per game given up at home.

The over has cashed in seven of the last ten home games for the Knicks, and four of the last six overall for the Hawks. Atlanta has not played well on the road over the last few weeks, and I think the main thing that will suffer tonight will be their defense.

Despite the fact that New York only scored 86 points yesterday in Boston, I think they will be able to take advantage of a tired Hawks team. Atlanta will own the inside against the Knicks’ soft defense, and I think Carmelo Anthony will have a huge game. No one on the Hawks is qualified to guard Melo, and I expect a big game from him. New York has cashed the over in three of their last five games this season playing with no rest, and I think they do it again tonight.

NBA Pick: Over 193 ½
