We were able to pull off a clean sweep with our NBA picks last night. Can we do something similar tonight? The betting lines are out and we've examined each matchup closely before coming up with our two plays.

We've got a couple early games on the agenda today, followed by a rather lackluster slate of contests in the evening. The matchup between the Mavericks and Nets should be the best of the night.

Washington Wizards vs. Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets hope to bounce back tonight after losing by 16 on the road to Dallas two nights ago. They'll play host to the Wizards as marginal favorites in the NBA odds.

Denver has fared decently well during a rough part of their schedule, beating the likes of the Heat, Clippers, Pistons and Magic over the last couple weeks, with losses coming to the Mavericks and Hawks. However, not only did the Nuggets lose on Friday, but J.J. Hickson injured his knee and will now miss the remainder of the season.

As for Washington, they won big over the Lakers their last time out and hope to close out this four-game road trip with a victory before returning home to face off against Phoenix and then Indiana in the coming week.

There's only been one matchup between these teams this season, with Denver emerging victorious in an incredibly low-scoring 75-74 road win in the nation's capital. That was all the way back in December, with a lot having changed since then.

Still, we do see the Nuggets getting the win again, regardless of the fact they'll be without a key rotation piece in Hickson.

Denver hasn't been playing too badly at all and has cashed against the spread in five of their last six overall. They've also stepped their game up at home, having won four in a row, which includes great wins over the Clippers (110-100) and Mavericks (115-110).

Tonight we expect to see Ty Lawson leads the Nuggets, who have won four of their last six overall, to another home victory and will back them as one of our sports picks. The fact this will be Washington's third game in four nights only helps our cause.

NBA Pick: Nuggets -1.5

Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Lakers
There's been a lot of losing going on for these two teams, with the Lakers having lost four in a row, which is nothing compared to Orlando and their eight-game losing streak.

Tonight Los Angeles will be at home and therefore favored by 4.5 points at the top sportsbooks. The Lakers are 15-17-1 ATS on their own floor this season, while the Magic are 12-23-2 against the spread on the road.

This one's simple, folks. Neither team really plays a lick of defense, so why would we be scared away from playing the OVER?

The one earlier meeting between these teams ended in a 114-105 victory for Orlando at home. The O/U was 210.5 there.

For reference on just how horrific the defense has been on both sides, the Lakers have allowed 120.4 points per game over their last five. They're letting teams shoot 48.4 percent overall and 41.7 percent from three.

The Magic have been better, but still have a lot to work on defensively. They've allowed 105.2 points per game on 45.3 percent shooting overall and 41.9 percent from three in their previous five contests. Orlando could also find it hard to bring a top effort on the defensive end after last night's hard-fought loss in Utah.

All in all, we expect another high-scoring battle between these two basement dwellers and will therefore recommend the OVER to close out our NBA picks.

NBA Pick: OVER 216
