It’s another short-slated Thursday in the NBA, that means it’s time for another NBA parlay. I am 8-1 in my last NBA Picks after splitting a pair yesterday, so let’s see if my hot streak continues.
Bucks vs. Magic
While this isn’t one of the TNT games on this evening, I like it a lot better than the actual early TNT game between the Nuggets and Grizzlies. The Bucks come into this game as -4 favorites in the NBA odds, with a total of 205 points. While the spread is inviting, the Magic have been playing ok as of late. Instead I am looking once again at the total of 205.
Even though the Bucks have cashed the over in three of their last four games, I think the total for this one is too high, and I am betting the under. Before their last four games, the Bucks have cashed the under in 12 straight games, and they are 13-3 cashing the under in their last 16 games still. The Magic had been on an over cashing streak before their last game, which we correctly picked the under against Memphis.
This should be a slower paced game as well. Milwaukee and Orlando are both right around the middle f the pack in pace, but with Tobias Harris back for the Magic, they tend to slow down some.
The Bucks have cashed the under at 11-4 this season when playing as favorites, and in all four games as an away favorite. Take the under as the first leg of our NBA Odds parlay.
Bulls vs. Lakers
Two nights after the Bulls’ surprisingly ended the Warriors’ home winning streak by the power of Derrick Rose, they travel into Los Angeles tonight to play the Lakers. While the status of Jimmy Butler is still up in the air after he missed the Bulls’ win over the Warriors, the NBA Odds still have the Bulls as solid -8 ½ favorites, with a total of 194 points. While I am always tempted to make Bulls my NBA pick and lay the points with Chicago, I think a better wager might be the over on a total as low as 194.
The Bulls have played down and up to their competition all season, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see everyone (probably other than Pau Gasol who will want to destroy his old club) turning down the defensive intensity tonight. With no Kobe Bryant and very little scoring, there's no way the Bulls put forth max effort tonight.
That being said, I could easily see the Lakers scoring about 95 points tonight, and if that’s the case the Bulls probably score at least 105. This makes the over look like a great wager, and I am jumping aboard.
The over is 10-4 for the Bulls in their last 14 games this season against teams with winning percentages of 40% or less, the over is a perfect 4-0 in their last four against teams with home winning percentages below 40% and the over is 8-2 in the Bulls’ last 10 games against SU losing teams.
