There are three very good NBA games kicking off the season tonight, and to tip off our NBA betting odds coverage, I have chosen three of my best NBA picks to give away tonight.

Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs
The battle for Texas helps us tip off the NBA season, as the Mavs head into San Antonio to duke it out for early season supremacy.

The NBA Odds have the Spurs as -4 favorites, with a total of 204 points. However this is a close spread, and while the Mavs have improved a lot over the offseason, I am looking towards the total for more NBA Picks value.

The total of 204 is a bit low for these offensive minded clubs. With the Spurs coming off a whole offseason of rest, they should have no issued scoring tonight.

Even though Tyson Chandler is now prowling the middle for the Mavs, his defense is not what it was a few years ago with the Mavs.

Dating back to last season and in the playoffs, the Spurs are 5-2 cashing the over in their last seven games as a home favorite between -1/2 and -4 ½. On top of that the over is 5-1 in the Mavs’ last six as a home dog.

Free NBA Pick: OVER 204

Orlando Magic vs. New Orleans Pelicans
Even though this game isn’t televised, it should still be an interesting game between two up and coming franchises.

The Pelicans will look to take over the game at home with the plethora of talent they have at their disposal, and the NBA Odds of -10 ½ in favor of New Orleans reflects that.

The total for this game is at 196, however without Victor Oladipo, the Magic are going to be led in this game by Nikola Vucevic, and a couple of rookies.

Against a healthy Pelicans team with Anthony Davis, Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday, the Magic stand little chance on the road. The addition of Omer Asik is really going to help this Pelicans team, and Davis as well.

He is going to provide great defense tonight on Vucevic, and I expect the Pellies to win in a blow out.

Free NBA Pick: Pelicans -10 ½ at 5Dimes

Houston Rockets vs. LA Lakers
Our late game tipping off this evening is the Rockets and Lakers from Staples Center. The NBA Odds have the Rockets as -6 ½ road favorites in this game, with a total of 205 ½.

With the return of Kobe Bryant, this game should be entertaining by itself, however there might be some extra NBA Odds value for this game.

Both teams were horrendous last season on defense, and even though they are well rested from a long offseason, I doubt that is going to come into play much tonight,  especially with a low total of 205. The total opened at an early-line price of 214, which seemed a little more reasonable, however it is all the way down to 205, and it’s giving us a window.

Last season in their final two games against one another, the Rockets scored 134 and 145 points respectfully against the Lakers. In the final game the Lakers scored 130. While Byron Scott should improve the defense of this team, he can’t play the defense for his team in LA. I’m going all over the 'over' for the final of my free NBA picks here.

Free NBA Pick: OVER 205
