We are in for a treat tonight with Anthony Davis facing off against Kristaps Porzingis and it could also lead to a lower scoring game. The Pelicans’ defense has been improving, which might make this a fine teaser game for Monday night.
The Pelicans are still one of the most undervalued teams in the NBA right now. After their horrible and injured start to the season, people seemed to have written them off. However, any team with Anthony Davis on it should not be written off.
Davis and Kristaps Porzingis are going to have some fun to watch defensive showdowns tonight and on top of all that, this may be a more defensive game that the Knicks have had in a while.
New York’s defense is atrocious, but their home defense tends to improve some, as they are allowing only 106.3 points per game when playing at the Garden. As a home favorite this season, New York is 6-5 cashing the under and when playing non-conference opponents, both of these teams trend towards the under.
New York is 9-7 cashing the under against the West this season, while the Pelicans are 10-4 cashing the under against the East. With the Pelicans playing better defense and all around better, they should be able to cover. However, with the teaser looking better, that’s where I’m going on this Monday.
