London plays host to a matchup between the Hawks and Nets today and it's Brooklyn that's favored at the neutral site. Are we rolling with the favorites to cover?

Odds Overview

Oddsmakers have the Nets favored by two points, while the O/U has settled at 192.5.

Brooklyn has been playing much better but is still just 15-22 SU, while going 17-20 ATS so far on the year. As for Atlanta, they're 20-18 SU and 21-17 ATS heading into today's game overseas.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets took a five-game winning streak to Toronto, but eventually ran out of gas in a 80-96 loss to the Raptors.

Brooklyn made a run early in the second half, but just couldn't sustain a high energy level throughout. In the end, the Nets shot just 40.0 percent overall, while connecting on 8-of-25 (32 percent) from beyond the arc.

Paul Pierce put up a team-high 15 points, while Joe Johnson finished with 11 points, six rebounds and six assists. Alan Anderson was the only other Brooklyn player to reach double figures in scoring.

Despite losing their last time out, it's been refreshing to see the Nets finally live up to their potential. They beat Miami and Golden State during their run and surely have gotten a lot of confidence out of those two impressive home victories.

Backing Brooklyn with your basketball picks has resulted in a lot of winners, as they've gone a very healthy 5-1 ATS over their past six contests. Can they keep it up in London today?

Atlanta Hawks

We're seeing just how important Al Horford is to this team. The Hawks have been struggling to play consistent ball without their key hog in the middle, having lost five of their last eight ahead of tipoff today.

We last saw Atlanta in action on Sunday in a 101-108 road loss to Memphis. Coming in the Hawks were getting five points in the NBA odds, but they still couldn't cover.

Paul Millsap paced the Hawks with 21 points, six boards, six dimes, and three steals, while Jeff Teague (20 points and five assists) also had a solid game. DeMarre Carroll and Mike Scott each added 15 points in the loss.

Atlanta's struggles away from home have been significant this season. They're 14-5 SU on their own court, but are just 6-13 SU on the road, which doesn't bode well for them as they get ready to play in unfamiliar territory today. Perhaps this is where the experience of Brooklyn will shine through.

Either way, this is a great opportunity for the Hawks to get back on track and prove they're still a team to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. They could really use this win for morale.

NBA Pick

The Nets beat the Hawks just 10 days ago and we look for them to do so again this afternoon. They've been simply playing the much better basketball recently.

Moreover, a nice long rest is more beneficial to a veteran Brooklyn group. Aging players like Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Andrei Kirilenko were able to get some much-needed rest after a grueling stretch which saw them play three games in four nights last week.

We're starting to see the true potential of the Nets, and that's even without both Brook Lopez and Deron Williams out there. The return of Kirilenko has been a boost, while the likes of Johnson, Livingston and Anderson have all stepped up their play as of late.

With that said, we're taking the hotter team and backing a Brooklyn win.

NBA Pick: Nets -2
