Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks
These teams have faced each other twice this season with Milwaukee winning and covering both games in OT. But, the circumstances of this game are far different. These teams have inverted records with Atlanta 42-30 SU and Milwaukee 30-42 SU. As a result, the Bucks stand 8 games out of the 8th playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Therefore, they are all but eliminated from playoff contention. The story is far different for Atlanta, whose 42-30 SU mark is good enough for 3rd place in the East. But, each of 4 teams (Atlanta, Boston, Miami and Charlotte) has 30 losses, as they vie for playoff spots 3 thru 6th in the Eastern Conference playoff queue.

It has been a lost season for Milwaukee, whose fortunes have faded since the mid-point of last season, when their first half surge made them the surprise team of the East. Most disappointing has been their record on the road, which finds Milwaukee with only 9 victories in 37 games. The Bucks enter tonight on a 3-game slide, after their (104-113) defeat at Cleveland on Wednesday night. This team has all the markings of a towel-tosser, as they play out the final 10 games of the season with little motivation.

Quite the opposite is true for the Atlanta Hawks! After having their 5-game winning streak snapped on Monday at Washington, when the Wizards routed the Hawks in the 4th quarter for a (117-102) victory, Atlanta returned the favor Wednesday night. The Hawks dominated the 2nd half, knocking down 17 triples for the game in a (122-101) revenge rout.

Betting Analysis
Now, the Hawks enter this evening with full focus on an 11-3 SU run. That streak has been keyed by great defense and timely shooting from behind the arc. In the Hawks’ 14-game surge (they are also 11-3 ATS in those games), Atlanta has allowed just 40% from the field and 30% from the arc. They have also averaged 13 triples per game in their most recent 7 outings.

Tonight, they are fueled by their double revenge motive against Milwaukee, as well as the fact they are vying with 3 other teams for the all-important 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference playoff queue.

In a battle of late season, super-surger vs. towel-tosser, I invite you to put the NBA odds in your favor and join me in my NBA picks on the Atlanta Hawks tonight.
