The Clippers looks like a very improved team, so if they can avoid punching any equipment managers, they might have a shot at getting to the Western Conference Finals. Their defense is the biggest reason why and with the Pistons playing great defense so far, this total is screaming for an under bet in tonight’s NBA Odds.

    Detroit Pistons vs L.A. Clippers

One of the greatest Stan Van Gundy quotes of all time is “we’re going to build a fucking wall.” That saying may have a different meaning thanks to a buffoon posing as a presidential candidate in America, but Van Gundy’s wall building on defense has been pretty good this season.

The Pistons rank third in the league in defensive rating to start the season, allowing only 96.9 points per 100 possessions. While that is impressive, the Clippers have been even more impressive this early in the season.

LA has the league’s best defensive rating at 92.3 and it sure looks like they have fixed two of their three biggest problems; defense and a bench. Both look great and against a visiting Pistons team still without their starting point guard, this game might end up a slow-paced and defensive battle.

The total has already dropped a full three points, but it is still vulnerable to an under play here on Monday. Both teams play at an average pace around 97 possessions per 48 minutes and with the way both teams are playing defense, don’t be surprised to see this game stay within the low to mid 90s. Before it goes down even further, take the under for you NBA pick.
