The Magic have been playing better cashing their odds in six of their last eight games. They are also capable of defending, rebounding and potentially playing the Hornets, even if Evan Fournier is out.

  Charlotte Hornets vs Orlando Magic

Don’t look now, but the Magic look like a competent team. They are charging in ATS value, covering six of their last eight games. Now they are +3 ½ NBA Odds underdogs and are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.

The concern tonight for Orlando is Evan Fournier, who missed the last two games with a heel injury and he missed shootaround this morning. Still, the Magic have won and covered against the Lakers and Grizzlies over their last two without him, so while it is concerning, the Magic still hold value as home dogs.

Even though they are 3-5 ATS on the year as home dogs, Orlando has covered two of their last three games as home dogs.

Their new-look starting lineup has a lot of defense in the paint with Bismack Biyombo and Serge Ibaka. That should play well against a smaller Charlotte frontline that doesn’t have much in regards of post-up play.

The issue will be slowing down Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum, but defensively if the Magic can take one of those guys out of the game, they still have enough depth defensively to win this game. I’m sure Jeff Green and Aaron Gordon are capable of slowing down Batum, so while the potential of being without Fournier does hurt this play, it’s still worth a small, one-unit play on the Magic.
