Utah has been sent out as a small road favorite in the betting odds for the first time this season, which makes Minnesota a clear NBA pick Saturday night.

Utah has alternated wins and losses over its last four games, which is important to consider when looking over the NBA betting odds, as it hits the road after suffering a 98-92 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks as 4.5-point home underdogs last night.

The Jazz are playing some of their best basketball of the 2014-15 campaign, as they’ve allowed an average of just 92.5 points on 42.9 percent shooting in posting a 5-3 SU record since mid-December.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is 2-3 SUATS as road favorites of three or fewer points, with the OVER going 3-2 in that situation.

Sinking Ship
Minnesota has played at least 20 games without the services of three key players on the floor, which can’t be ignored when making your NBA picks, as it looks to snap a long losing streak that began on Dec. 12.

The Timberwolves are focused on trying to keep the Western Conference’s season-worst losing streak from reaching 11 contests, but they need to do a better job on the glass in order to accomplish that feat—getting out-rebounded by 4.4 boards a game since tasting their last victory. It’s important to point out that the squad is 4-10 SU and 6-8 ATS as home underdogs of three or fewer points since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

Road Woes
The Jazz are 5-12 SU on the road this season, including a dismal 1-7 mark versus conference opponents.

Utah is getting outscored by 5.7 points a contest when playing away from Energy Solutions Arena, with opponents shooting 39.2 percent from beyond the arc. Sports bettors will find that the Timberwolves may fall short in stretching the Jazz defense, as they knock down just 30.0 percent of their shots from the three-point area at the Target Center.

Dynamic Duo
Shabazz Muhammad and Andrew Wiggins will need to play great on both ends of the floor if the Timberwolves plan on improving their record to 6-26 on the season, as they’ve both averaged over 20 points in their last five games. Wiggins is the main player to watch in being the betting favorite to earn Rookie of the Year honors, as the top overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft poured in 21 points in a 100-94 setback to Utah as seven-point road underdogs Tuesday.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Timberwolves as one of their top basketball picks, as the Jazz are 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings in this series.
