Will the Hawks end their slide at the betting windows or will the 76ers get the cover? Find our where we have decided to place our NBA picks in this matchup.

The Atlanta Hawks have logged a 0-3 spread record over the first trio of matchups in their present homestand, despite holding foes to 92.3 PPG. Friday’s NBA betting has Larry Drew’s club finishing its stretch at Philips Arena against the Philadelphia 76ers, who are 3-2 ATS in their last five road duels.

Let's breakdown this matchup and decide what the best options are for our NBA picks tonight.

Hawks, Korver fall to Knicks

Atlanta picked up its fourth double-digit loss in 10 games with Wednesday’s 95-82 defeat as 1 ½-point home ‘chalk’ against the New York Knicks. The Hawks allowed New York to hit 51.9 percent from the field, while outscored in the fourth quarter by a 27-14 margin.

Hawks guard Kyle Korver drained 6-of-10 buckets from three-point land, finishing with a team-high 25 points. Atlanta’s Jeff Teague and Josh Smith united for 14 assists and 12 boards, while Teague added two of his side’s seven steals.

The battle’s combined 177 points dipped below the ‘total’ of 195, bringing the UNDER to 5-4 in the Hawks’ last nine games. Atlanta hit a sparse 9-of-19 free throws, while being edged out in paint points, 38-26.

76ers upset in Charlotte

Philadelphia saw a three-game winning streak end in Wednesday’s 88-83 setback to the Charlotte Bobcats, falling as a five-point favorite. The 76ers blew a 16-point lead, while held to 35.1 percent field shooting.

76ers guard Damien Wilkins came away with team-highs of 20 points and nine boards, while mates Jrue Holiday and Thaddeus Young logged three steals each. Philadelphia’s Dorell Wright notched 14 points off the bench, knocking down 5-of-9 floor shots in 19 minutes of action.

The contest’s combined 171 points plunged beneath the ‘total’ of 196, making the UNDER 6-2 in the 76ers’ last eight matchups. Holiday added eight of his squad’s 16 assists, while going 0-for-5 in buckets beyond the arc.

Back the 76ers as road dogs

The NBA odds makers at opened Atlanta as a seven-point home favorite, while first setting the ‘total’ at 192. Both squads are playing the front end of a back-to-back spot, with the Hawks heading to San Antonio and Philadelphia visiting the Miami Heat.

I am adding the 76ers to Friday’s sports picks, looking for Holiday and Co. to stay within cashing range. The Hawks have had too much inconsistency to back as ‘chalk’ here, while Philadelphia has a 5-2 spread record in its last seven duels against Eastern Conference foes.

Philadelphia is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 meetings with the Hawks, while ranking in the league’s top 10 for scoring allowed (96.3 PPG). The 76ers have cashed tickets in their last two road spots as an underdog of seven points or less, including last month’s 117-103 upset of the Sacramento Kings.

Atlanta has been held to 94.4 PPG in its last five home dates, facing another spot here where the fire power may not be up to par. The Hawks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven matchups as a favorite, losing the rebounding battle in six of the encounters.

Look for the 76ers to get the money in an ugly affair, adding another cashed ticket to their 5-0 spread mark in spots that followed their most recent five defeats.

NBA Pick:  Philadelphia 76ers +7 (
