Paul George is welcoming his old team to Oklahoma City on Wednesday night. Will OKC come away with the cover or will the Pacers stun bettors yet again after their blowout win in Denver?

Jordan’s NBA Picks: 42-29

Indiana (45-29 SU & 36-37 ATS) at Oklahoma City (43-31 SU & 37-37 ATS)

Wednesday, 8:00 PM EST, ESPN

Free NBA Pick: UNDER

Recommended Sportsbook: 5Dimes

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3569074, "sportsbooksIds":[19,1096,93,180,300], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

The Pacers are one of the scrappier teams in the league and even down their most important player over the last two months, they have weathered the storm. However, they are not out of deep water yet, because the Thunder have lost five of their last six SU and they do not want to be in the 8th seed, which would mean a first round matchup with the Warriors.

Both Teams Backed Against A Wall

Even with their blowout win over the Nuggets, the Pacers are going to have to pull out more of those big wins if they want to have home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

They had lost four in a row SU before their win on Sunday, so now they have had a full two days off to prepare for the Thunder.

That has also helped the health of their squad, because after practicing on Tuesday, Darren Collison looks like he’ll make his return to the starting lineup. It doesn’t mean much, but Collison is a veteran presence for this squad and he will be key in making Russell Westbrook have to put forth an effort on defense against his fellow UCLA Bruin.

The Thunder also need to figure out what the hell is going on right now. Their recent decent in the standings doesn’t have them in any danger of missing the playoffs, but it has put their chances to move on to the second round in jeopardy.

With all that in mind and with both clubs desperately needing a win to keep pace in their respective playoff races, I see the under being a great value in this one. Not only will both teams be glued onto each other on defense, but both of these teams have the ability to defend very well. If both defenses are locked in, I think the see-sawing we’ve seen from this total makes the current number very valuable.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

New on @SportsKT: I wrote about how the Indiana Pacers' offense has struggled significantly in March but showed positive signs against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. https://t.co/JvKkZQcwMx
— Grant Afseth (@GrantAfseth) March 27, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

The Sharp Pick

The great part about this game and the under is not only do both teams play good defense, but neither has been extremely successful on offense lately. It's no surprise the Pacers’ offense has fallen apart since Victor Oladipo went down. They are only averaging 104.6 points per 100 possessions in the month of March, which ranks 28th in the league.

What’s even greater is the Thunder have been even worse in March, averaging 104.2 points per 100 possessions and ranking right behind Indiana this month.

If that trend continues, then 217 or higher is way too many points for what this grinding type game could become. Paul George is going to want to beat his old team and right now the game plan to beat the Pacers is to lock them down defensively and give their already beleaguered offense to room to breathe.

Indiana has cashed the under in eight of their last 10. With the Thunder giving up just 102.4 points per 100 possessions at home to Eastern Conference opponents this season, add the under to your NBA Picks.

Final Score Prediction: Pacers 103 – Thunder 109
