Before placing your NBA pick tonight, know that these two Western conference rivals have already matched up this season with Phoenix recording a 119-99 home court victory over the Lakers as 12 point chalk in the Phoenix home opener.

Phoenix has now won 5/6 vs. the Lakers of late, as these teams are clearly headed opposite directions.

Take a look at Tuesday's NBA Betting Odds Report for a rundown of all of today's picks.

With the injury to Kobe last year and little chemistry on the Lakers’ team, LA dipped to 27-55 following a 45-37 showing the previous campaign.  Though Kobe has returned for this season, he has little support at this point in time.  Gasol has moved onto Cleveland, Nash is OFY with back surgery, 1st round pick Randle (Kentucky) has already blown out a knee, and Young remains sidelined.  The result is 0-4 SU, 1-3 ATS.  Included are losses by 18 to Houston, 20 to Phoenix, 7 to LA Clippers and 23 at Golden.  You will note that none of those margins will get the Lakers the money in this contest.  Maybe most distressing for LAL is that in those defeats, they have allowed at least 108 points and are allowing an average of 118 PPG.  That will not get you many victories in the NBA.  Kobe is shooting just 41% from the field and has an NBA worst -19 +/- average.  New acquisition, Lin, is even worse at 34.5%!

Phoenix is a team on the rise.  Little was expected of the Suns in the 2013-14 season.  Opening week rumors circulated in discussions regarding this NBA match that prospects looked so dire for Phoenix that they might “tank” the season, in hopes of high draft picks.  It was obvious from the beginning that Phoenix was a far underrated team.  They translated a 25-57 season of 2012-13 to 48-34 last season.  Credit the newly found guard triumvirate of Dragic, Bledsoe, and this year Isaiah Thomas.  Following the Laker victory to open the season, the Suns proved their mettle with a 94-89 home court win vs. defending champion San Antonio.  The inevitable letdown came the following evening (Saturday), when Phoenix went to the altitude of SLC to face the 0-2 SA Jazz.  In the inevitable ebb and flow of the NBA, Phoenix was routed 118-91.  With 3 days to regroup, look for a strong bounce back effort by a Phoenix team who will both play with the confidence of a 20 point victory vs. the Lakers, but the motivation of the embarrassing 27 point loss.

Here's an important bit of information for you before placing your NBA picks tonight: in November NBA action, winless home teams as favorite to +7 are a better than 70% ATS PLAY AGAINST proposition, if they were a losing team last year, enter off an underdog loss, but have covered at least 1 of their previous 2 games.
