The Hornets are above .500 heading into Tuesday night, which is a lot more than you can say about the Cavaliers. Still without Kevin Love, the Cavs are a ship adrift right now and won't keep up with Charlotte.

All of their seven wins have come against teams with losing records, but their losses have almost always been close, and against some good teams.

We may need to temper our expectations some for this Hornets team, but there is a chance that with Walker playing like an MVP candidate, this team could finish the year in the playoff picture.

The Hornets are currently just outside the top 10 teams in defensive rating this year, holding opponents to just 108.3 points per 100 possessions. However, they rank fourth offensively through 13 games, and they are among only five teams with offensive and defensive ratings that rank in the top 11 in the league.

This is no fluke either. With a lot of young depth at guard and on the wing behind Walker, the Hornets make up for their lack of size with some strong shooting and by not turning the ball over.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\"His teammates rarely set him up. However, even some of their other veterans have question marks by their names leading up to Tuesday.

Kyle Korver and J.R. Smith missed practice on Monday, leaving their statuses up in the air. If both those guys miss, the Cavs may have Rodney Hood and not a lot else.

With that in mind, the Hornets are a great value at their opening odds. Charlotte has one of the best ATS records in the league this season through the first month of the season. They are also 5-2 ATS on the road and 9-3 ATS in conference games this season.

If Walker is allowed to run wild in Cleveland, the Cavs stand little chance of slowing this offense down. When Walker is causing havoc on the perimeter, either knocking down three-pointers or getting into the lane, it leaves open a multitude of strong shooters for the Hornets on the perimeter.

Malik Monk for instance is having an insane year, and don’t forget about Jeremy Lamb or Nicolas Batum either. Any of these guys could go for 15-to-20 points on Tuesday against this poor defense.

The Cavs are currently allowing 115.9 points per 100 possessions, and their opponents own a 56.7% effective field goal percentage, which ranks dead-last in the NBA. Considering Cleveland is allowing teams to shoot 39% from beyond the arc this year, I’m loading up on the Hornets ATS for a Tuesday NBA pick.
