Welcome to another edition of our playoff Picks of the Day! after nailing our main teaser yesterday, I am back to release two more winning picks for the Wednesday slate of games.

  Thunder vs. Rockets

When it comes to the Rockets’ strategy on defense against the Thunder, it should revolve around letting Russell Westbrook get his and stopping everyone else. In Game 1 Westbrook was way off with his shot but even if he made another six baskets to bring his shooting percentage above 50% for the game, it wouldn’t have mattered.

The Rockets own a deep bench and a ton of outside shooting and if they are hitting their shots, there is no way the Thunder can match that. There is also the outlier of Andre Roberson, arguably one of the worst offensive players in the league who dropped four three-pointers and 18 points. That is not happening again and if Roberson is the one beating you, chances are the Rockets will win this one again.

Houston is now 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall against the Thunder dating back over the last three seasons. They have won six straight and they are 5-1 during that three-year stretch ATS when playing the Thunder at home.

The playoffs are here and things have not changed. Even if Westbrook goes for 50 tonight, I doubt the rest of the Thunder can match that 50. With James Harden and Westbrook canceling each other out, I’ll take the way more talented supporting cast and the home team here for my NBA picks.

Two-Team Teaser

After successfully nailing our two-team underdog teaser last night, I am following a similar script tonight with the first and last games of the night. The Hawks and Wizards both played at a pretty fast pace both this season and in their Game 1 battle. Even though I suspect the score to come down some in this one, it won’t be enough to keep the over from cashing on the first leg of our teaser.

The Hawks showed in Game 1 that they have no way to stop John Wall and considering the Wizards’ three-point shooting and depth, the Haws stand no chance of slowing them down defensively here in Washington, DC.

That being said, the Hawks’ offense has been atrocious all year, but a faster-paced game helps them a lot. Despite only shooting 43.6% from the floor in Game 1, the Hawks still scored 107 points and I put them at potentially more than that here tonight.

On the flip side of this teaser are the Blazers and Warriors, two teams who definitely know how to push the pace and score in bunches. Even without Jusuf Nurkic for another game, teasing the over in this one is also the way to go in what should also be a fast-paced Game 2.
