Today's NBA slate features nice amount of game with potential value, fortunately Troy Hailburton analyzed the card and detected four games that have good odds that look rather promising.

Clippers vs Pelicans

The Pelicans will try to get only their second home win of the season against the reeling Clippers who have not won in their last four games. New Orleans is coming off a four game road trip in which they won three of four games and moved their road record on the season to 5-3. It’s very uncommon for a team to have more success on the road then at home, but they may bode well in the future for the Pelicans as they have only played four home games all season.

Los Angeles is having a major problem staying healthy, and it completely changes their outlook when they don’t have their guys in the lineup. Depth has always been an issue for the Clippers under Doc Rivers, but at least in years past the bench players were laden with veteran leadership. Now the Clips back-end of the bench consists of rookies and second year players. The Clippers will be without Danilo Gallinari who has a strained glute, on top of already missing Patrick Beverly, and Milos Teodosic.

Look for the Pelicans to get back on their winning ways at home against a depleted Clippers team.

Hawks vs Wizards

The Atlanta Hawks are coming off a disappointing loss to the Detroit Pistons, but there were a lot of positive takeaways to be had from that game from Atlanta’s perspective. Dennis Shroeder is steadily improving his shot-selection and playmaking skills, while Kent Bazemore is starting to look like the player that Atlanta paid handsomely when they poached him from the Golden State Warriors. This is a team that is still trying to find it’s identity after losing every major piece from a franchise that was in the conference finals just two seasons ago. In order to reach that level, the Hawks have to start trusting their younger players more, and that especially includes rookie John Collins.

Collins is a force of nature athletically, and an underrated skilled big man in today’s game. The Wake Forest product is averaging 10.9 points and 7.7 rebounds in just 20 minutes of game action. It would certainly behoove the Hawks to play Collins more and let him gain the experience that he needs to be more assertive in the future.

The Wizards got back on track by beating Lonzo Ball and the Lakers on Thursday night and have now won brought their record to 3-3 on the road. Last year the Wizards went 31-10 in their home games, but have failed to build up the same homecourt advantage that they had last season. The biggest hindrance to the Wizards right now is their propensity to play down to the competition. You can’t play in one possession games with Golden State and then turn around and lose to the Suns and the Mavericks. Washington has a problem dominating teams they should beat, and that 11 point spread tonight is too high.

 Cavaliers vs Mavericks

The Mavericks got their second win of the season against the Washington Wizards, but don’t expect them to go streaking just yet. Cleveland is still very much on their introspective journey as a team and trying to find the right combination of lineups around LeBron that will make them successful.

The only thing that will make the Cavs more successful is a dramatic improvement on the defensive end. The Rockets score 117 points against Cleveland, making that the 10th straight game that an opponent has scored at least 110 points against them. That is completely unacceptable and not championship basketball. This game will be a case-study as to how bad the Cavs really are on defense, because the Mavs sure are bad on offense.

Dallas is one of just four teams to not average 100 points with an average of 99.2 points per game. If LeBron can’t lead the team to an easy victory tonight, then it may be time to hit the panic button in Cleveland.

Grizzlies vs Rockets

The NBA schedule makers have given us a little quirk for sure because the young NBA season is not even a month old, yet this will already be the third meeting of the season between the Grizzlies and the Rockets. Memphis won both of the two previous meetings in dominating fashion and will look to continue that tonight in Houston.

The Rockets are sporting the second best record in the league, and will certainly be in the mix at the top of the Western Conference at the end of the season, which makes this game very important. If the Grizzlies were to win, that means that they will have won the season series already against the Rockets, which could play an important factor in the tie-breakers at the end of the season. The reason why Houston has struggled with Memphis is because Mike Conley is far too dynamic of a player for the Rockets to stop without having their gritty on-ball point guard defender, Chris Paul.

Look for Conley to have another dominant game.
