On Today's NBA agenda we have some very enticing matchups with some appealing odds. But, if you really want to make some money today, our expert capper Troy Haliburton already did the research for you. Read on for his analysis

Wizards vs Sixers

Washington was finally able to get back on track with a much needed win in Minnesota last night, as the Wizards defeated the Timberwolves 92-89. The Wizards were able to get that victory by finally calling plays for Otto Porter in clutch time, and that decision paid dividends. Porter finished the game with 22 points and hit the game tying, and go-ahead buckets in the final minute to lead the Wizards to victory when Bradley Beal had an off night. Porter will need to stay aggressive on the offensive end while Wall continues to be out with his knee injury.

The Sixers are coming into this game on a few days of rest after losing their last game to the Cavaliers. In that game, Philly’s star rookie, Ben Simmons suffered an ankle injury and will be a gametime decision heading into tonight’s game. Philly will also be without guards Justin Anderson and Nick Stauskas.

The guard play in tonight’s game will be very important, and the with Philly having so little depth with ball-handlers, Washington will need to take advantage of that weakness. One of the catalysts of the Wizards win last night was backup point guard Tomas Satoransky, who is making his case to receive more of the backup point guard minutes when John Wall returns. Satoransky had seven points, five rebounds, and six assists in the Wizards win and looked competently not only running the offense, but also defending. If he can put forth another performance of that nature, the Wizards should be able to beat the Sixers for the second time this season.

Thunder vs Orlando

The Orlando Magic’s season is quietly unraveling before our very eyes, as they have lost nine consecutive games after starting the season hot. Part of the reason that Orlando is struggling so mightily has been the inconsistent play of point guard Elfrid Payton. The fourth year guard has not lived up to the expectations that the franchise has put on him, and his poor play has stunted the growth of the Magic wing players, who desperately need a point guard who is going to keep the ball-moving and put their shooters in the best position to succeed.

Oklahoma City has also been in kind of a rut recently too. The Thunder have a problem closing out games, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that in clutch situations, they revert back to isolation ball instead of playing together as a team. OKC has also struggled mightily to win on the road. The Thunder are 2-8 on the road this season and have not won a road game since their October 31st win at Milwaukee.

In this particular matchup, OKC has a distinct talent advantage, and should be able to use that to cruise to victory against the inferior Magic.

Pacers vs Rockets

Victor Oladipo is exceeding all expectations individually and having his best season in the NBA, averaging 23 points per game, which is 12th in the league in scoring. Oladipo’s solid play has led the Pacers to a surprising 12-9 record on the season and they will need one of his best performances they expect to upset the dominant Houston Rockets.

Houson is getting into mid-season form with their recent play, and a lot of that can be attributed to the return of Chris Paul. The Rockets are now 7-0 this season in which Paul starts the game at point guard and have been quite dominant in the process. Paul is putting on a passing display this season and in his seven games this season has amassed 65 assists to just seven turnovers. Combine Chris Paul’s excellence with James Harden’s dominance, and the Rockets are a load to bear for opposing teams. Harden leads the league in scoring (31.7 ppg) and assists (9.8 apg).

Houston will more than likely win this game, but the problem is the fact that they are favored by 11.5 points, which is just too much against a competent and talented team such as the Pacers. Look for Indiana to compete with the Rockets and at least keep the game within single digits.

Grizzlies vs Spurs

The drama in Memphis has spilled outside of the locker room and into the media, as the Grizzlies lit basketball twitter ablaze on Monday when they abruptly fired head coach David Fizdale after an apparent rift between he and Marc Gasol. Fizdale received the ire of Gasol after the latter was benched in the fourth quarter of a loss to the Brooklyn Nets. There have been rumblings coming out of Memphis that Gasol and Fizdale had not been getting along, and all of that appears to be true, as the Memphis organization decided to get rid of the second-year head coach in favor of their star player.

A lot of players around the NBA seem to wonder how Fizdale was seemingly railroaded after he lead the Grizzlies to the playoffs in his first season as head coach. Memphis is in a downward spiral, having lost eight games in a row.

Things will not get any better for Memphis since they will still be without star point guard Mike Conley and will have to face one of the most consistent teams in the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs are 13-7 this season, and are just trying to stay afloat until Kawhi Leonard returns. San Antonio did receive a boost to their lineup when Tony Parker finally made his debut after missing the first 19 games of the season.

Look for San Antonio to kick the Grizzlies when they are down and cruise to another victory.
