The visiting teams in two of tonight's interconference  matchups have had forgettable seasons, but are the Kings or Knicks still worth betting on with your NBA picks?

Sacramento snapped an eight-game losing streak on Tuesday by beating the Orlando Magic 105-99. The Kings don’t have much to play for regarding a playoff push, but what the franchise is doing for its young players in terms of gaining them game experience is invaluable. Sacramento has mixed a nice veteran presence to go along with their great crop of young players. De’Aaron Fox, Justin Jackson, and Frank Mason are able to watch Zach Randolph and Vince Carter on a nightly basis and have a better understanding of what it’s like to be a professional.

Miami has had a few days rest since losing to the Houston Rockets on Monday, and all of that time off has left the Heat wondering why they failed to have an all-star despite having the fourth-best record in the conference. Part of the reason might be that Miami has only recently started surging up the East standings, and while Goran Dragic has had good numbers (17.3 points and 4.9 assists) it does not compare to the 19 ppg and 9 apg from Washington's John Wall. Miami will be getting back one of its key backcourt members, Tyler Johnson, who has been out with a left ankle injury.

The Heat, heavy home favorites on the NBA odds board, will more than likely win this game, but for my NBA picks I do not expect them to cover. That is a big number against a feisty Sacramento team that is full of young players, eager to learn how to win.

Denver is still having complications with their point guard situation and is running a lot of their offense through Nikola Jokic in the high post, which is good in moderation but not necessarily how you want to run your team in the modern NBA. Jamal Murray has emerged as the Nuggets' lead guard and is breaking out offensively. He had a career-high 38 points in a win over Portland on Tuesday for his sixth 30-point game this season.

Murray has figured out how to get to his open spots on the floor. Now all he has to do is learn to be a better distributor for the Nuggets to have continued success on their way to the playoffs.

The Knicks, +4.5 underdogs tonight on the NBA odds board, are trying to piece together a good run to get back in the playoff race in the East after floundered the past month. New York is getting into a habit of starting fast and then slowing down as the season progresses. A lot of that is because first-time all-star Kristaps Porzingis is in and out of the lineup with injuries. He missed the Knicks' loss to Golden State on Tuesday but is expected to play tonight. With my NBA picks, I think Denver will keep the Knicks down and pull through a victory in front of their home crowd, where they are 12-10-1 (54.5 percent).
