The Timberwolves have been rumored to be shopping Teague, who has a player option on a $19 million contract for next season. With or without Teague, the Timberwolves, who have lost two straight and four of five, might have a tough time leaving the Memphis loss in their rear-view mirror. The defeat was the result of a foul called on Josh Okogie with one-tenth of a second remaining in a tie game.

One advantage the Timberwolves would seem to have in the game is the matchup between All-Star centers Karl-Anthony Towns and Orlando's Nikola Vucevic. Towns has outscored his rival 70-46 in their last three head-to-heads, with the Timberwolves winning all three.

The Magic have lost five of their last seven games, but it's hard to blame Vucevic. He has recorded double-doubles in six of his last eight outings, missing double-doubles in the other two by one rebound in each.

It's possible the Magic could go into the game with even less of a supporting cast for Vucevic than the one that participated in Tuesday's 132-122 loss at Oklahoma City.

Orlando is one of the worst teams in the NBA in terms of defending their home floor against the spread with an ATS record of 13-14-1, and this leads the door wide open for Minnesota to come in and get a backdoor road cover. This game opened with the Timberwolves being favored by just one point by has now moved to two points as news about both teams looms towards the trade deadline.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

The Big Ticket returns to Minnesota to catch up with @KarlTowns & @22wiggins + an emotional interview with @Timberwolves head coach Ryan Saunders. 🌲🐺#KGArea21 pic.twitter.com/hLlk1nu36x
— KG's Area 21 (@KGArea21) February 6, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Memphis (22-23 SU, 24-30-1 ATS) at Oklahoma City (34-19 SU, 30-23 ATS)

Thursday, 8 p.m. ET

Free NBA Pick: Thunder ATS

Best Line Offered: Bovada

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3569554, "sportsbooksIds":[999996,169,238,139,93], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

For much of the season, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been carried by their defense. But over the last two weeks, as Russell Westbrook has put together a historic streak of triple-doubles, Oklahoma City's offense has been carrying the load. Thursday, the Thunder host the Memphis Grizzlies with Westbrook looking to become just the second player in NBA history to record eight consecutive triple-doubles.

During the streak, Westbrook has averaged 14.4 assists per game and less than three 3-point attempts. In his first 38 games of the season, Westbrook averaged 10.5 assists and nearly five 3-point tries, despite making just 24.2 percent. He's driving to the basket more and creating looks for teammates, including Paul George, who is averaging 35.9 points per game during Westbrook's streak.

The Thunder find themselves in a precarious position as they are just four games out of first place in the Western Conference playoff race, yet are also four games above the ninth seed. This game represents a critical point in the Thunder season as they keep trying to rotate different wing players into their lineup to replace the injured Andre Roberson, but none of those options seem to be the answer.

Terrance Ferguson is a promising prospect, but is too frail to compete on the defensive end and his jump shot is too inconsistent to be relied on. Alex Abrines has the size to compete defensively, but lacks the foot speed to keep up with opposing shooting guards. Luckily for the Thunder they face one of the weakest wing casts in the league in the Grizzlies. Memphis has been deprived of quality wing players all season, a large reason the Grizzlies are essentially throwing in the towel on the rest of the season.

Memphis' Marc Gasol was held out of Tuesday's win over Minnesota with reports surfacing that he could be dealt to Charlotte, though no deal had been announced as of press time. Gasol received a standing ovation once he made his way to the Memphis bench during the game. There is a good chance he could be moved before the trade deadline and not play in this game, and that uncertainty is probably why the Thunder opened as 13.5-point favorites. Even though the spread is huge, Oklahoma City should be able to cover at home against a depleted Grizzlies team.
