ET

Free NBA Pick: Pistons ATS

Best Line Offered: BetOnline

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3569628, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,169,238,19,92], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

The Wizards have gotten a boost from two players they acquired from Chicago for starting forward Otto Porter. Power forward Bobby Portis is averaging 20 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in two wins since the trade, while small forward Jabari Parker has averaged 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.0 steals.

Parker had fallen out of favor with the Bulls, but the Wizards have given him a major bench role. A pair of trades last week resulted in a muddled rotation for the Detroit PIstons as well. And another addition over the weekend will provide yet another option for coach Dwane Casey to ponder.

The Pistons signed Wayne Ellington after he cleared waivers on Saturday. Ellington was traded by Miami last week to rebuilding Phoenix, which had no intention of retaining the 31-year-old shooting guard.

Besides the Wizards and Pistons both attempting to integrate new players into their lineups, they are also in direct competition for the Eastern Conference seeding. The Wizards are just two games back of the Pistons in the standings and both teams have edicts from their owners to make the playoffs this season. This game is also extremely critical because it serves as the tie-breaker between these two team who have already split there season meetings for the year.

The only problem for the Wizards is that they are one of the absolute worst teams in the NBA when it comes to covering the spread on the road. Washington is an abysmal 8-20 ATS in road games this season. Luckily for the Wizards, Detroit is one of the worst teams at covering at home this season with a mark of 12-16.

This game opened up with the Pistons being favored by four points, which should be enough of a spread for Detroit to cover at home and give themselves a decided advantage over the Wizards in the playoff race. The SBR expert Free PIck for this game is Detroit ATS.

Charlotte (27-28 SU, 27-27-1 ATS) at Indiana (37-19 SU, 28-27-1 ATS)

Monday 7 P.M. Indiana's latest victory came Saturday night, 105-90 over the woeful Cleveland Cavaliers.

Indiana's five-game winning streak hasn't come against a Murderers' Row of competition. Three victories came against teams with losing records, while the best win was against the Los Angeles Clippers. But the Pacers are doing what they have to do and are hanging on to the third spot in the Eastern Conference, ahead of Philadelphia and Boston.

The Hornets (27-28) have been hovering around .500 for the entire season, although the last time they had a winning record was when they moved to 16-15 on Dec. 21. They have split their past 10 games since losing at Indiana, 120-95, on Jan. 20.

That's been enough to keep them above water in the playoff chase in the East, buoyed by the All-Star season of guard Kemba Walker. He poured in 37 points in Saturday's 129-120 win in Atlanta, hitting 9 of 17 3-point shots en route to topping 30 points for the fourth consecutive game and 17th time this season.

The Pacers are 16-12 ATS at home this season and will look to continue that trend and maintain their positioning in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
