Although this NBA odds total seems really high between Thunder & Rockets I like for this game to be a track meet when these two teams meet in Houston. We share our free NBA pick inside.

NBA Odds
Odds makers have come out with this total at 215, and some places at 214. You can still get pretty good NBA Odds at over the total of 214 at Bookmaker sports book. For one of my NBA total picks of the day I like for both of these teams to have a very up-tempo game.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2882509, "sportsbooksIds":[93,1096,19,92,238,349], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

Oklahoma City
In their first two games Oklahoma City is averaging 125.5 points per game, 46.9% shooting from the field, and 32.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Their points per game are little bit skewed because of the double-overtime game they had with Orlando. Yesterday they scored 117 in a win against Denver and have really pushed the pace this year at 98 attempts per game which ranks third in the NBA. They're focusing a lot on spacing the floor and making extra passes to get good open looks. Also spreading things out to provide driving lanes which Russell Westbrook has exploited. Unfortunately for Houston it also looks like Kevin Durant has not missed a step.

Defensively in their first two games OKC has allowed 121 points per game (double OT with Orlando), 46.2% shooting, and 35.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Yesterday they allowed just 93 points to Denver, but they have been playing just decent defense and doing all their damage on the offensive end. Houston has been, for lack of a better word, terrible on offense but I look for them to bounce back at home tonight against a Thunder team that likes to go up and down the floor.

Houston Rockets
In their first two games Houston has averaged 88.5 points per game, 35.5% shooting from the field, and 22.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Yesterday they just scored 89 points against Miami and had one of the worst second halves they have had as an organization in the last two years. On the offensive side they been shooting at a terrible percent and along with their batting averages so far against the Heat they only shot 40.5% from the field. Tonight's game is huge for the Rockets because they have yet to win so far this season, a season in which they are supposed to be contenders. Expect them to simply go with the flow of OKC's tempo and put up a lot of points.

Defensively in the first two games Houston has allowed 108.5 points per game, 48.3% shooting, and 41.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Yesterday they allowed Miami to score 109 points and come back from a 21 point deficit. Although that may be morally deflating, they know they will have to bounce back.

Quickly tonight or this Oklahoma City team will run them off the floor. Defensively I think they will try to focus on getting hands into the passing lane and into transition in this fast paced game.

This game has track meet written all over it. With both teams coming off a back to back I don't expect the superb defensive effort from either team. For one of your NBA Picks I suggest taking over the total in what should be the most entertaining game of the night.

NBA Picks: Over 214 at Bookmaker
