In this high tempo series I am backing the Houston Rockets with my NBA picks on the plus money line to shock the L.A. Clippers and eliminate them from the playoffs.

Clippers vs. Rockets Betting Line
NBA betting odds makers have come out making the Clips the favorite at -2.5 in this spot which makes sense.  Only one time this season have they lost three games in a row, during a tough four game losing streak…that is it.  Also, Los Angeles has had some nice success against the Rockets in Houston until they kind of lost the handle on things in game five.  This would be a monumental collapse for an organization that has been always big on hype and little on results.

The Big “Mo”
Houston has all the momentum right now, and their recent fourth quarter comeback was epic.  I can see why odds makers have made the Clippers the favorite because overall they have been the more dominant team on both ends of the floor.  Still, at home I like the value on the plus money line with the Rockets to get a little home cooking and get this done.  All pertinent stats go up for the Rockets and I think after winning these last two games they will continue the roll.  On the year they were 10th in the league in defensive efficiency, at home they are ranked 3rd, opponent shooting percentage goes down from 44.5% to just above 43%, scoring defense from 102 to 99, and they lead the league in opponent three point shooting at home allowing just below 30%.

I am sure L.A. will come in pretty bent out of shape.  They are either going to react positively with the heart of a champion and take care of business, or they are going fold under the pressure after not closing out the Rockets when they had the chance in the back of their minds.  I am backing the latter with my NBA picks here and look for the Rockets to add to L.A.’s playoff woes.
