The Pistons have been eliminated from the playoffs and over their last few games they have been in evaluation mode. They sat out two starters on Sunday and now here on no rest they are playing host to the Wizards in the last-ever NBA game at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Washington Concedes Defeat?

With the Wizards' loss to the Heat on Saturday and Toronto’s win on Sunday afternoon, the Wizards are officially locked into the 4th seed in the East. While Washington hasn’t said anything about resting players tonight, my hunch tells me both teams are going to dress but either not play at all some key guys or play some of them a lot less.

For instance, it would not surprise me one bit if Bradley Beal sits this one out because of his long injury history, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see John Wall play but only play 20-25 minutes.

For the Pistons, they will likely continue their evaluation mode. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Marcus Morris sat out Sunday, and it would also not surprise me to see Andre Drummond take a seat tonight. Nothing is official obviously, but all this could lead to a looser game where the 'over' is the best bet you can make.

The Sharp Pick

At 210, this total is asking for the 'over,' and while the Pistons have been good defensively at home, now with nothing to play for this could be more like an All Star Game than one between conference rivals in April.

The Wizards are 15-7 cashing the 'over' since March 1, they have cashed the 'over' in three straight against the Pistons (twice this season) and with the potential of defensive guys like Otto Porter and Drummond to play little or not at all, the pace and offensive of this game should sky-rocket.

The only problem with all of this is Detroit’s record of 4-12 cashing the 'over' on no rest this season. That’s the best 'under' cashing streak of any non-rested team this season. However, the Pistons have also not played a back-to-back game since being eliminated from the playoffs, and they are 2-1 cashing the 'over' in their last three games on no rest.

Combine this with the higher-scoring games these two teams have had already this season, and the 'over' is the play. A total of 210 is not going to be hard for these two teams to crack in a meaningless game.
