Golden State's Kevon Looney cost us winning day in NBA prop bets with a dunk with 21 seconds left last night for meaningless basket as far as the game was concerned between the Warriors and Orlando.
As sports bettors, we have been on the short end of that straw before and just have to move on and make more NBA picks with thoughts of winning again. Though the sportsbooks were a little slow on the uptake for props today, like what I uncovered for Friday.
Let's get after the NBA odds with these prop wagers.
Wizards vs. 76ers - Philadelphia Over/Under 104.5 Points (-110)
The Philadelphia offense was clicking at 110.5 points a contest over four games until they were stymied at Detroit in posting only 91 on Wednesday. Prop oddsmakers see them bouncing back against Washington defense which has allowed 105.5 PPG on the road. However, this seems like a lot points for a team which only averages 96.9 PPG at home and when the Sixers were trailing by 20 or more points at the half in last outing, they have averaged 90.4 PPG in next tilt.
NBA Pick: Sixers Under 104.5
Cavaliers vs. Raptors - First Team to 20 Points
Toronto is within three games of Cleveland to tie them for top spot in the Eastern Conference and can narrow the gap further with a victory tonight. Having won 17 of 20 to pull this close to the Cavaliers, many of those wins were byproducts of jumping on the opposing team early and applying pressure, which led them to panic a bit and force shots. The Cavaliers are not likely to panic, but could be on the short end of early score with the Raptors jacked to play and the home crowd howling and knowing they are on nine-game home winning streak. Look for Toronto to break 20-point threshold first as underdog.
NBA Pick: Raptors Score 20 points first (-105)
Clippers vs. Kings - First Team to 20 Points
The Los Angeles Clippers had been playing solid, consistent basketball and even in recent losses to Boston and Golden State, they never quit and were in the games to the end. The loss at home to Denver 87-81 as 11-point point home favorites does not match the profile. The Clippers has their worst shooting night of the season at Staples Center (35.3 percent) and second-poorest of the year. One could surmise the Clips want to use this conflict with division partner Sacramento as mouthwash to eliminate the sour taste and should come out roaring to establish themselves. With the Kings conceding the most points in the NBA, the Clippers should accomplish this.
NBA Pick: Clippers Score 20 points first (-135)
Bulls vs. Hawks - First Half Spread of +/- 4 (-115)
After posting five losses in a row, Chicago has rebounded with three straight winners. Though Atlanta has dropped five of six, they have whipped the Bulls twice in 2016, by scores of 13 and 15 points. With Derrick Rose a game time decision with ongoing right hamstring tendonitis, the Hawks are higher than anticipated favorites at -7 for the game. No question Rose would be asset if he were to play, but one game injury situations are often overrated and teams like Chicago as road underdogs on the first half line when revenging a home blowout loss of 20 points or more, off an upset win as an underdog, are 27-6 ATS since 2012, with the average outcome a virtual tie score. If Rose plays, all the better if you secure these points.
NBA Pick: Bulls +4 for First Half
