As mentioned yesterday against the NBA odds, the first game back can cause trepidation, not exactly sure how all the players and teams will react, now especially those who made roster changes.

Nevertheless, with so many games to choose from, there is a vast amount of NBA picks to be made for prop bets today. Three of the four props I chosen had to do with teams that played yesterday and that is not an accident, because it should help make easier when you have something to go by that provides a better feel for the situation along with the factual numbers to support some of these instances.

Time to attack the NBA odds with these prop wagers.

Pistons vs. Wizards - First Quarter Spread 0.5 Points (-110)
Washington gave a strong showing with victory over Utah last night and I expect them to have a little more rhythm offensively early than Detroit, who has not played in nine days. This is similar to college football where one team has played a game versus opponent who is making season debut, with one more assured what they need to do and the other trying to find itself with a bit more uncertainty. This has little to do with the outcome and the Wizards might be a good play against team tomorrow at Miami in the first quarter or second half having to play three times in three days, but for tonight, expect John Wall to get Washington is flow and cover the number.

NBA Pick: Wizards -0.5 Points in First Quarter
Best Line Offered: at 5Dimes

Raptors vs. Bulls - Over/Under 17 Made 3-Pointers (-120)
While anything is possible, the numbers support one-way action this prop wager. Toronto and Chicago on the season have averaged a combined 15.9 three-pointers per contest. On defense we have a similar story with these two Eastern Conference squads at 16.5 surrendered. The continued absence of Jimmy Butler for Chicago also plays a part in supporting belief these teams will go the below the sportsbooks release.

NBA Pick: Under 17 Three-Pointers
Best Line Offered: at BetCRIS

Rockets vs. Suns- First Half Total Over/Under 108.5 (-110)
With Markieff Morris shipped off the Washington, his recent offensive performances will be missed, but his destructive attitude and how he played most of the year will not. These are two of the worst three defense teams in the NBA and with both offenses geared more towards scoring rather than guarding, there should be no shortage of points for the game and the first half specifically. An examination of Houston finds a couple real positive angles that support a larger score. The Rockets are 13-5 OVER the first half line against teams who permit 99 or more points a game and are even better 13-3 OVER if they tally 99 or more PPG.

NBA Pick: Over 108.5 for First Half

Celtics vs. Jazz- First Team to 20 Points (-115)
Utah like Washington is in difficult situation because of makeup game yesterday. The Wizards at least are home for two before traveling, but the Jazz had to fly home from D.C. to prepare for tonight, with Boston already there awaiting them. With the Celtics having the league's No.4 offense and a quality 16-12 ATS road record, it would seem to make sense they can generate a faster start and outscore Utah in the early going and reach the 20-point benchmark first.

NBA Pick: Celtics Reach 20 Points First
Best Line Offered: at Bovada
