The 2014-2015 NBA regular season schedule has been released. There are a lot of details you will want to begin to start collecting so that you can be the most informed bettor you can be.

You want to be able to process all the information and begin to line up a lot of your main points of study. You know that an injury here or a player transaction there can always change how the season will go, but there are some things you can at least anticipate so that when you arrive at October 27, the day before the regular season starts, you can say to yourself that you’ve done everything realistically possible to plan for professional basketball betting this season.

What This Means For The First Two Weeks Of NBA Games
In the first week of an NBA season, players are physically fresh. Teams that go on long road trips are not worn down. The Oklahoma City Thunder have a long, multi-time zone road trip to start the season. Should they be expected to struggle on that road trip, at least when they get to a back-to-back set of games? One should not be ready to downgrade the Thunder or other teams that go on back-to-backs early in the season, because the fatigue of the experience is not likely to be as substantial. In early February, on the other hand, yes, that’s going to matter a lot more, especially with teams not as talented as the Thunder or as deep as the Spurs. You’ll be able to be a lot more confident about your decisions in those situations later in the season.

Let’s look at some of the early-season games on the schedule. On opening night, the world champion Spurs host the Mavericks. Dallas has what looks like a much-improved team, so it will be motivated to spoil the Spurs’ party. San Antonio, though, started last season 13-1, so if you’re thinking San Antonio will get off to a slow start, you’re probably going to need to revisit last season.

On Wednesday, Oct. 29, Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls will visit the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony, under new coach Derek Fisher, who will teach Phil Jackson’s triangle offense to his team. The Knicks’ adjustment period with the triangle will probably mean a slow start, and the physical freshness of Rose early in the season should mean that unless he gets hurt, Chicago should be very strong in late October and early November games.

On Oct. 30, LeBron James plays his first regular season home game in Cleveland in his second tour with the Cavaliers, with his team hosting the same Knicks. Cleveland’s going to be so pumped up for that game. The Cavs should be a great team at home in the first few weeks of the season. LeBron’s going to play with so much energy. He should be great in the first two weeks of the season.

How To Bet The News
Look at the teams you know. Look at recent history. Unless certain players get injured, trust the quality that you see in the league. It’s only if there are certain adjustments or complications that you might need to reconsider what kind of play you make. For your NBA picks in some of these early-season games, consider San Antonio over Dallas, Chicago over the Knicks, and Cleveland over the Knicks. Bet on Oklahoma City to have a winning road trip to start the season. Be very selective about the Thunder, though.
