Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell, a finalist for the NBA's Most Improved Player Award, had the best season of his career and will become a free agent.

Russell helped the Nets make the NBA Playoffs for the first time in four years (5Dimes had them at +300 to make the playoffs) and he was named to his first NBA All-Star Game, which is why many teams will go after him in the offseason.

5Dimes set the season win total for the Nets at 32 and with Russell leading the way, they 42-40 to surpass that number with ease.

If Russell leaves the Nets he could go for a deal at a starting value of $20 million and when asked about his future, General Manager Sean Marks' comments were clear:

"He's obviously one of our more talented players. 'You (reporter) said that we'll have decisions. D'Angelo is going to have decisions, too. That is a little bit of the nature of this business. But at the end of the day, our job is to continue to put talent on the floor for Brooklyn.'"

Russell proved he can play like an All-Star and lead a team and even in the offseason and with his future up in the air he's working out with the Nets, looking to improve his game even more.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

DLo getting work in at Nets practice facility.

Posted 1:22am (via @Cbrickley603 Instagram.)

pic.twitter.com/LTQEDjzXSz
— Anthony Puccio (@APOOCH) May 24, 2019
"}[/]

D'Angelo Russell averaged 21.1 points, 7.0 assists and 3.9 rebounds, shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc in 30.2 minutes over 81 games last season after averaging 15.5 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds, shooting 41.4 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from 3-point range in 48 games (35 starts) in the 2017-18 season (his first with the Nets).

Where Will D'Angelo Russell Play Game 1 of the 2019-20 NBA Season?
(Courtesy of Jazz Sports)

Nets -500

Mavericks +300

Knicks +350

Bulls +1000

Clippers +1200

Field (all others) +200

2019 Most Improved Player Odds
(Courtesy of Jazz Sports)

Pascal Siakam -2000

D'Angelo Russell +375

De'Aaron Fox +2500
