The Clippers are 5-0 straight-up, 4-1 against-the-spread in their last five meeting with New York, which bodes well for LA as it opens a stretch of six games out of seven on the road with a visit with the Knicks Wednesday night at MSG.

Clippers-Knicks Betting Odds
LA opened as a favorite of right around 14 points for this game, with a total of 197, and the only early movement we saw was some books bumping the Clippers to -14.5 on the NBA odds.

Clippers-Knicks: The Situation
LA has won four in a row, after topping New Orleans Sunday 107-100. The Clippers trailed by three points at the half, and by seven early in the third quarter, but rallied for the victory. They did, however, come up a few points short of covering as nine-point favorites.

Last Friday LA beat Washington 113-99; just before that the Clips won at Sacramento 116-105; and just before that they beat Charlotte 99-92.

At 46-25 the Clippers are involved in a four-team scrum for the four-five-six-seven spots in the Western Conference standings. With a win and help LA could jump into the four spot in a night; with a loss and no help it could fall to the seven spot.

On the other end of the spectrum New York has lost four games in a row, after falling at home to Memphis Monday night 103-82. The Knicks actually led by a point early in the third quarter, but scored just 34 points in the second half, losing not just the game but the cash, too, as 14-point home underdogs.

New York shot just 42 percent from the floor Monday, committed 19 turnovers and allowed the Grizzlies to shoot 52 percent.

Sunday the Knicks lost at Toronto 106-89; just before that they lost at Philly 97-81; and just before that they lost in overtime to Minnesota 95-92. So since pulling that upset of San Antonio eight days ago New York is 0-4 both SU and ATS.

At 14-57 the Knicks “lead” Minnesota by 2.5 games in the battle for the worst record in the league.

LA has beaten New York five times in a row, including the first meeting this season between these teams back on New Year's Eve in Los Angeles 99-78. The Clippers led by 10 at the half, bumped that advantage to 23 early in the fourth quarter and cruised to the victory from there, covering as 13-point favorites.

LA only shot 44 percent from the floor that night, but hit 15-of-34 on 3-pointers, while New York shot just 38 percent on field goals. Also, that game stayed way UNDER its total of 206.

Clippers-Knicks Betting Trends
LA is 19-15 SU, 15-19 ATS on the road this season.

LA is leaning toward the UNDERS this season by a 36-32 margin, even though Clippers games are averaging 207 points. In fact, LA has played three OVERS in a row, scoring at least 107 points each of its last three games.

New York is trending UNDER by a 38-32 margin, as Knicks games are averaging 193 points.

Injury Update
New York ranks among the more injury-depleted teams in the league; we might not have enough room on this page to tell the whole story. Most notably for the moment G Alexey Shved, who's averaging 15 PPG for the Knicks since arriving in a trade back in January, is dealing with sore ribs, and his status for tonight is uncertain.

For the Clippers G Jamal Crawford (16 PPG) is out with a calf injury.

Clippers-Knicks Free Pick
New York simply inspires zero betting confidence. There's no way we, in good conscience, can recommend a play on the Knicks as our  NBA pick. So while tonight's spread might seem a bit steep, we like LA.
