Two of the best teams in the Western Conference collide as the San Antonio Spurs visit the Clippers. This is going to be a great matchup and odds makers have this game at around a pick. Can San Antonio continue their momentum off a big win?

San Antonio Spurs

San Antonio pulled off a big road win in Houston with some solid defense and big shots. Currently, San Antonio’s averaging 104 points per game which rank them just 18th in the league. But their efficiency ratings are very solid shooting 46.9% from the floor and over 40% from distance ranking them fourth and first in the league respectively. As the season continues we are seeing them improve things on the defensive side and currently they rank third in the NBA allowing opponents to shoot just 33.1% from distance. This will be a point of contention tonight as Los Angeles is one of the better three-point shooting teams in the league at 38.3%. As well, I like the Clippers to get enough stops to keep San Antonio in check and believe they should come out of this game with a win. The San Antonio is playing great basketball but I think there is good value and backing Los Angeles at home.

Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles is coming off a blowout win versus Denver and should be focused in tonight against one of the best franchises of this generation. Los Angeles is averaging just under 110 points per game which rank them fifth in the league and like San Antonio have been very efficient across the board. Los Angeles ranks third and fourth in the league in overall and three-point shooting percentage respectively, and fifth in both shooting efficiency and effective field-goal percentage. What has been the difference for them this year though is their focus on the other side of the ball as they are allowing opponents to shoot two point shots which rank them third. The issue for them tonight will be if they can defend from beyond the arc well enough to keep San Antonio and check from hitting those big shots. I think they’ll be able to do it tonight at home because although San Antonio is shooting at a very high percentage from distance they don’t get up all that many knocking down just nine per game which ranks right in the middle of the league.

NBA Odds

Oddsmakers have this game at Clippers +1 at most places, and for my NBA pick, I will back Los Angeles in the spot. Although San Antonio is my favorite team, it pains me to say I believe Los Angeles wins this game. Back the Clippers.
