In their only matchup earlier this season the Wizards took care of the Clippers at home but today they meet up in Los Angeles. The Clippers are coming off a shocking loss to the Sacramento Kings but have a good opportunity to bounce back against one of the better teams in the Eastern conference. Can Los Angeles cover the small spread?

Washington Wizards

Washington has been playing tremendous basketball since January but over their last 10 games, they have had their share of losses. They have actually played decently well on the second leg of their back to back’s over the past month, but I believe this will be a tough spot for them to come in and stay within the number. Statistically, Scott Brooks has this team clicking at a really good offensive rate averaging 41.3 field goals made per game, shooting 47.4% from the field, and averaging 109.2 points per game ranking them second, third, and fifth respectively.

It is on the other side of the ball though where I think they will struggle a bit tonight against a very efficient Los Angeles team as Washington has allowed opponents to shoot 46.3% from the floor which ranks them 23rd in the league. They also rank 23rd in opponent shooting efficiency and 24th in opponent effective field-goal percentage. This will be a tough spot for them against a Los Angeles team coming off a bad loss and also looking for a little bit of revenge.

Los Angeles Clippers

Probably one of the more shocking upsets of the year occurred in the Clippers last game versus the Kings so I imagine they will try to get the bad taste out of their mouth in this matchup. This team is well on their way to the playoffs once again and statistically, they have been solid on both sides of the ball. Offensively they have been very efficient despite the fact they don’t push a lot of tempo ranking fourth and fifth in effective field-goal percentage and shooting efficiency respectively.

What I like about Los Angeles though is the fact that they have actually played some defense this year and they rank in the top 10 in most categories across the board. This is a good spot for them to bounce back from that bad loss while catching Washington on the second leg of a back to back. Although the Wizards have had a tremendous season so far look for the Clippers to play one of the best games of the year and cover.

Washington Wizards vs L.A. Clippers

Oddsmakers have made Los Angeles a solid -5 favorite and for my NBA pick, I will take Chris Paul and company on the spot. All the respect to Washington but this a good game for the Clippers to come out, flex their muscle, and win by close to double digits.

Free NBA Picks: Los Angeles -5

Best Line Offered: <a href=";book=Pinnacle" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="Looking to Play Online?
