Kawhi Leonard agreed to a three-year, $103 million deal to join the Clippers, who also acquired Paul George in a trade with the Thunder, forming possibly the most talented duo in the NBA

The Clippers (+300 favorites to win the NBA Championship at BetOnline) just became the best team, not just in Los Angeles but in the entire league. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combined to average 54.6 points, 15.5 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 5.7 3-pointers and 4.0 steals last season and they're bringing back most of their core, which won 48 games and pushed a Warriors team with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to six games in the first round of the playoffs.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Kawhi pullin up to Staples ;/a>
— Jake | Sports Design (@jakepablomedia) July 6, 2019
"}[/]

While the Clippers have a much more rounded out roster than teams like the Lakers, they still have needs to fill. Montrezl Harrell can be a starting power forward or center but frontcourt depth would help and Harrell was formidable off the bench.

George can be the starting power forward (like when the Thunder had Carmelo Anthony at the three) and Leonard can play at small forward, giving Landry Shamet a starting role as shooting guard but they could pursue JaMychal Green, who shined in 24 games with them last season.

Clippers Roster With Kawhi Leonard & Paul George

*Notates expected starter

C: Montrezl Harrell*, Ivica Zubac, Mfiondu Kabengele
PF: Maurice Harkless*
SF: Paul George*, Terance Mann
SG: Kawhi Leonard*, Landry Shamet, Jerome Robinson, Rodney McGruder
PG: Patrick Beverley*, Lou Williams

Leonard (plus-5.0 Box Plus/Minus) averaged career-highs of 26.6 points and 7.3 rebounds with 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.4 blocks in 34.0 minutes over 60 games in the regular season while George (plus-5.5 Box Plus/Minus) ranked second in the league with a career-high 28.0 points and he also averaged personal bests with 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and an NBA-best 2.2 steals in 36.9 minutes over 77 games.

It may take some time for Leonard and George to gel together and although their scoring averages from last season might decrease because the Clippers have many players who can put the ball in the basket, their points and rebounds per game should still go Over the total set by BetOnline. As for their assists per game, Leonard will likely have more ball-handling duties than George so I would lean on Leonard averaging Over 3 assists per game while George averages Under 3.5 assists per game.

Kawhi Leonard Points Per Game 2019-20 Regular Season
(Courtesy of BetOnline)

Over 24.5 points per game -115

Under 24.5 points per game -115

Kawhi Leonard Rebounds Per Game 2019-20 Regular Season

Over 6.5 rebounds per game -115

Under 6.5 rebounds per game -115

Kawhi Leonard Assists Per Game 2019-20 Regular Season

Over 3 assists per game -115

Under 3 assists per game -115

Paul George Points Per Game 2019-20 Regular Season

Over 22.5 points per game -115

Under 22.5 points per game -115

Paul George Rebounds Per Game 2019-20 Regular Season

Over 6.5 rebounds per game -115

Under 6.5 rebounds per game -115

Paul George Assists Per Game 2019-20 Regular Season

Over 3.5 assists per game +100

Under 3.5 assists per game -130

Los Angeles Clippers 2019-20 Regular Season Wins

Over 54.5 Wins +100

Under 54.5 Wins -130
