The losses are starting to pile up in Brooklyn, and the Clippers want to be the latest team to take advantage of the Nets' spiral. Los Angeles desperately needs this game to stay competitive in the Western Conference playoff race, as they are on the outside looking in as the ninth-place team. The team in front of them in the standings, the New Orleans Pelicans, got a double-overtime victory in Brooklyn on Saturday. While that was happening, the Clippers were losing badly to Philadelphia.

In that game against the Sixers, the Clippers shot 43 percent from the field, missed 24 of 36 three-pointers and committed 16 turnovers. That is not a recipe to beat anyone, and L.A. has to do a much better job of protecting the ball if they want to beat the lowly Nets (34-22-1 ATS). While the Nets are on a major losing streak, they are still able to cover a good number of their point spreads against much better competition. Brooklyn leads the NBA with an ATS record of 34-22-1, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that they are usually heavy underdogs. On tonight's NBA odds board, the Nets are 4-point home underdogs.

The Clippers (29-24-1 ATS) can rely on their experience as being road spoilers this season, as they have one of the best ATS road records at 15-10-1. One way the Clippers can be sure to get the victory is to win the battle beyond the three-point line. The Clippers are one of the worst long-range teams in the NBA, shooting just 35.2 percent, but luckily for them the Nets are one of the few teams behind them at 34.7 percent. The team that can get it going from deep will be victorious and, for your NBA picks, the smart money says that will be the Clippers.

Monday NBA: Spurs vs. JazzFree NBA Pick: Spurs +4.5Best Line Offered: Pinnacle

The Utah Jazz are going streaking, and their nine-game winning streak has turned what was a nine-team race for the eight Western Conference playoff spots into a 10-team race. Utah upset Portland on Sunday night and was very successful at integrating Cleveland castoff Jae Crowder into their rotation. Crowder played 29 minutes and scored 15 points off the bench.

One reason Utah (30-26 ATS) has been so successful recently has been their dominance in the paint since the return of Rudy Gobert. Utah has outscored opponents 102-60 in the paint in the last two games. They've been just as dominant on the glass, outrebounding opponents 107-70. This type of dominance down low should continue against a San Antonio team that will be without All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge, who has a sore knee.

The Spurs (28-26-3 ATS) struggle to score down low, but they should be getting back a pair of point guards that will help them succeed on the perimeter. Dejounte Murray and Tony Parker were upgraded to questionable after missing Saturday night’s game against Golden State. Combine their potential return with the fact that Utah will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back, and San Antonio should have a big advantage in terms of rest. The Jazz do not do well ATS as home favorites (8-8), and that's what they are tonight on the NBA odds board. With your NBA picks, look for San Antonio to get its first victory against Utah this season.
