Houston Rockets vs. LA Clippers (-6-) 10:35 ET
Houston won the first two of these by counts of (109-105) on this floor and (107-97) in Houston. Tonight, they will play an LA Clippers team, who had their 10-game winning streak snapped on this court, Saturday night in a (110-103) loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Be assured that the Clippers, coming off that loss, will be plenty motivated, as not only are they playing with double revenge from this season, but also with revenge from their playoff series last May, when Houston stormed back after trailing 3 games to 1 to knock the Clippers out of the playoffs.

Game Analysis
In those 2 earlier Houston wins, Dwight Howard was dominant. That could well happen again tonight, as the Clippers’ front court will be without Blake Griffin, who has missed the last 10 games with a partially torn left quadriceps tendon (he may return for the Thursday game against Cleveland). Also missing the previous 2 games has been interior anchor, Jordan, who is suffering from a bout of pneumonia. In his place, Aldrich has scored 19 points in each game, outstanding efforts based on his career numbers. Though Jordan is listed as questionable for this Monday rematch with Howard, this line tells me he is going to play. It will be another opportunity for the NBA to further embarrass themselves with the “Hack-a-Center” philosophy which could see 2 of the 5 worst foul shooters in the league make numerous trips to the stripe. Howard is playing his best basketball of the year, averaging 19/13, while recording 9 consecutive double doubles. In the 2 meetings against the Clippers this season, Howard has 42/34. Griffin has countered by tallying 57/19.

Betting Analysis
In looking forward to the matchup on Monday night, no Houston starter logged more than 27 minutes in Sunday’s (112-95) over the Lakers on this court. Along with the rested starters, starting PG Beverly, who rested a sprained left ankle, figures to return for tonight’s game. I expect Jordan to return for this game and for the Clippers to be ultra-focused, as they play off a loss on this court and to avenge 5 consecutive defeats at the hands of the Rockets. The Clippers well remember the Game 6 loss in which they were outscored 40-15 in the 4th quarter on this floor by Houston.

In one of the true NBA revenge games of the year, I invite you to put the NBA odds in your favor and join me with my NBA pick on the L.A. Clippers.
