The Mavericks' Harrison Barnes has not missed a game this season, but he is questionable tonight against the Clippers. His potential absence gives this game nice betting value.

Even though the Clippers could trade DeAndre Jordan or Lou Williams any day now, for tonight it appears they are still members of the Clippers. If that remains that way by tonight’s game, they have a good chance of winning and covering the -6½ points on the NBA odds board.

After opening at -5, the sharps quickly bet up this spread overnight, and some sportsbooks were even hovering around -7. However, with the Mavs averaging just 92.8 points per game over their last five and failing to score 100 in six of their last seven games, it might as well be -10.

If Harrison Barnes can't play for Dallas, that might be what the line jumps to by tip-off. Barnes is one of the only true offensive threats left on the Mavs as they rebuild and wait for Dirk Nowitzki’s eventual retirement.

The Clippers are good enough to slow down rookie Dennis Smith Jr. if Barnes is out, and if that’s the case, the Clippers are a great value tonight with your NBA picks. The Clippers have covered three of their last four and eight of their last 12 games overall.
