The Cleveland Cavaliers season is not going exactly how they planned, but the results should not be surprising to them based on the lack of effort that the team puts in on the court. The Cavs now have the 26th ranked scoring defense in the NBA and the worst defense per 100 possessions.

The Pacers are a surprisingly competitive team this season and a lot of the credit has to go to the improved play from Victor Oladipo. The former Indiana Hoosier is having a career year, averaging 22 points per game, which is up from the 15 ppg he averaged last season. Oladipo came to the Pacers in a trade for Paul George, in which the consensus was that the Pacers did not get proper value back for the former All-Star. Also in that trade was Damantas Sabonis who is averaging 12 ppg after only averaging five ppg last season.

One of the main reasons that Oladipo has seen his career take off is the fact that he transformed his body this offseason by losing a lot of weight. Oladipo’s new frame allows him to be quicker attacking the basket and is giving him more endurance to be able to take on a heavier workload. Indiana has been great ATS this season with a record of 27-21 while the Cavs continue to lose the faith of bettors with the worst ATS record in the league. Look for Cleveland to continue to struggle.

Philadelphia 76ers (26-17-1 ATS) vs San Antonio Spurs (26-21-3 ATS)

The Sixers are coming into this game as one of the hotter teams in the NBA, having won eight of their last ten games. This recent surge has put the Sixers squarely back in the Eastern Conference playoff race and is giving them the confidence that they will. Wed in order to finish strong down the stretch.

One thing that would be a huge potential confidence boost would be if the Sixers could snap their 13 game road losing streak to the San Antonio Spurs. Philly has not won in San Antonio since 2004 and are now knocking on the door of breaking a loser’s trend.

The Spurs are not playing too shabby themselves recently, but are running their roster thin by having to rely on so many back-end of the bench role players for major production this season. This should not be of any surprise, because that is what the Spurs do. Players like Davis Bertans, Kyle Anderson, and Bryn Forbes have anchored the Spurs team while Kawhii Leonard has missed time.

San Antonio covers at home 71% of the time with a league leading ATS record of 15-6-2 at home. The Spurs will continue their season dominance and their historical dominance over the Sixers.
