The Celtics and Thunder hook up Friday in one of the more intriguing non-conference games of the night. The Thunder are -6 favorites in the NBA Odds tonight, and with a total of 204, this game also seems to have some leftover value the sportsbooks have not caught on to yet.

Right now the full game lines for this one are pretty sharp. These are two of the top defensive teams in the league to start the season, and the total is right there in that sweet spot where I can’t recommend a play on either side.

The C’s are getting some help tonight in the return of Marcus Morris, but it’s not entirely clear how he fits in right now with rookie Jayson Tatum playing so well. The loss of Gordon Hayward ensures his minutes, but he might not be that big of a factor as he has been for the Pistons over the last two seasons.

That makes the spread hard to play also, but the value I see in this one stems from the first half total of 98 points on the NBA Odds board. As I mentioned above, both teams have been solid defensively, and tonight I see that continuing in the first half.

OKC is coming into this home game rested with two full days off, while the C’s have had one day off since their Wednesday game. Boston is 36-29-1 cashing the under since the beginning of last season on one day rest, while the Thunder are a league best 8-3 (72.7%) cashing the under on 2-to-3 days off in between games.

Boston has allowed only 47.2 points per first half this season, and over their last five games that number dips to 43.2 points allowed. The Thunder have been good in that area as well, holding opponents to 48.2 points per first half over their last five, and 46.7 overall this season.
