The Celtics and Bucks are probably two of the four best teams in the Eastern Conference this season, and Thursday already marks their second meeting of the season. Even though the teams have already met once, I also think that gives us a betting edge in the NBA Odds being offered right now.

In their first meeting of the season last week in Boston, the Bucks edged out a 108-100 win with the Celtics coming off the emotional loss to the Cavaliers and the loss of Gordon Hayward the night before.

This time around we are in Milwaukee, and the Bucks have had the benefit of an extra day off, compared to the Celtics who come into this one with only a day of rest since their win over the Knicks. Boston has two straight solid wins against the Sixers, and the blowout of New York, but heading into Milwaukee is going to be tougher than either of those two games.

Boston is 2-1 SU and ATS in their last three meetings with the Celtics from Milwaukee over the last three seasons, and they are also 2-1 ATS in their last three overall against the Celtics dating back to last season.

It all comes down to matchups for the C’s, who are smaller and not as athletic as the Bucks from 1-to-5. Malcolm Brogdon practiced on Wednesday, so I expect him to be back from an ankle injury, which is going to downgrade Kyrie Irving ever-so-slightly.

On the flip side, Marcus Smart has missed the last two games and could be in danger of missing a third on Thursday.

With Brogdon potentially rejoining Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Tony Snell in the starting lineup, the Bucks are bigger, stronger and much better on defense than the C’s 1-through-4. Thon Maker might even give Al Horford some trouble, so with a small spread at home, I’m going with the better team with the better defense.
