We’re going to examine Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series between Cleveland and Boston on Sunday. Our insightful betting preview article gives you a unique perspective on this contest, and concludes with an ATS selection.

Cavaliers go for the Sweep
The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to complete a four game sweep on Sunday at 1:05 PM ET against the Celtics at the TD Garden in Boston. According to the NBA betting odds at Bookmaker, Cleveland is an 8.0 point favorite, and the posted total is 203.5.

Series Overview
The Boston Celtics may be down 3-0 in this series, but they’ve been very competitive in each of those losses. Despite being just 1-2 ATS in the series, the games they failed to cover were by narrow margins of 1.0 and 1.5 points. Cleveland has been dominant on the boards in this series, averaging 11.7 rebounds per game more than the Celtics. The Cavaliers have made 32 three point shots in the first three games compared to just 19 by Boston. One area in which the Celtics have excelled is at the free-throw line. Boston has gone 55-for-65 (84.6%) from the charity stripe in Games 1 through 3.

Cavaliers Update
Since 1/15/2015, Cleveland has gone an outstanding 37-9, and was a profitable 29-18 ATS during that time. Many of those ATS covers during that stretch came as a substantial favorite. Sunday will be just their fourth road game in the last twenty-eight days. The Cavaliers are 23-19 straight up and 19-23 ATS on the road this season.

Celtics too young to Quit
The good thing about being a youthful team like the Celtics is that they won’t be deterred by a 3-0 series deficit. Let’s face it, nobody expected the Boston Celtics to make the playoffs this season, and at this point they’re playing with house money. Every game they’ve played since the conclusion of the regular season can be considered an additional bonus for a franchise that’s in a rebuilding mode. This current roster isn’t going to be deemed a failure by bowing out in the first round, and these games can be viewed upon as valuable playoff experience. Putting all this into perspective as it pertains to Sunday’s game, those placing NBA picks know that Boston will be a loose bunch that will be playing with a nothing to lose mentality, and will be energized by their loyal home crowd.

Final Analysis
I can’t imagine the Cavaliers will be at their very best physically or mentally on Saturday. The situation is far from urgent, they don’t feel threatened by this opponent, and there’s plenty of room for error. I expect Boston to be in this game throughout, and possibly extend the series to a fifth game back in Cleveland.
