Our expert NBA handicapper shares his top three totals on Wednesday’s card. These NBA picks have gone a terrific 8-2 during the past four days!

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Boston Celtics
Oklahoma City has gone under the total in each of its previous four contests when the total is 210.0 or more, and they scored 120 points or more in their previous game. Those outings went under the total by an average of 20.1 points per game. The Thunder has also stayed under the number during its previous four road games. During that stretch, they shot just 41.8%, and converted on only 23.5% of their three point tries. The Thunder have been very good defensively in their last three games overall, holding opponents to 95.3 points per contest, and 38.9% shooting. Finally, Oklahoma City has gone 17-4 (81%) under the total in its last twenty-one games this year versus Eastern Conference opponents.

Boston has seen five of their previous six games at home stay under the total. Their defensive play has been a major contributing factor to those low scoring affairs. They’ve allowed 96.5 points per game, held opponents to 41.4% shooting, and also permitted them to convert on only 28.4% of its three point attempts.

Relative to their current total, I like this to be a low scoring contest, and one of my Monday NBA picks will indicate that.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Detroit Pistons
Atlanta has gone 9-1 under the total (188.1 PPG) in its last ten games, and that includes during each of their previous four. During their previous eight outings, they’ve allowed a paltry 88.1 points per game, held opponents to just 37.8% shooting, and also saw them make only 27.0% of its three point hoists. The Hawks have also scored 96 points or less in three of their last four contests.

Detroit has been an erratic shooting perimeter team all season. I don’t see them excelling in that area on Wednesday against what’s been lock down defensive team of late. Detroit has gone 10-5 (66.7%) under the total during its last fifteen games.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Sacramento Kings
Sacramento played last night, and they’re 4-1 under the total in its past five games when playing with no rest. The average total in those five contests was 217.3, and there were only a combined 202.6 points scored per game. Sacramento has seen six of its previous eight games overall stay under the number.

New Orleans is 23-10 (69.7%) under the total in road games this season. As a matter of fact, they’ve gone under in all eight road games when the total was 213.0 to 229.0, and there were a combined average of 202.8 points scored per contest. The Pelicans scored just 95.2 points per game in those contests, and shot a terrible 39.6%.
