The Pelicans and Heat are both coming off games on Friday night, and tonight they meet one another in South Beach with the Pelicans as -5 favorites. With Miami banged up and the Pelicans in a strong spot can we trust New Orleans as a road favorite?

With Goran Dragic doubtful, James Johnson out, and Hassan Whiteside still out with knee soreness, the Heat are down three of their best players. Behind them are a lot of solid guards, but not a lot of depth in the frontcourt.

Right now rookie Bam Adebayo and Kelly Olynyk are going to be no match defensively against DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. These two are going to feast against this Heat frontcourt without their two best big man defenders.

On top of that, this spot is nice for the Pelicans. They are 3-1 ATS on no rest this season and they are 6-1 ATS playing as road favorites. New Orleans is also 6-4-1 ATS playing against the Eastern Conference.

With New Orleans owning the size and talent advantage, there isn’t much the Heat are going to be able to do against the talented big men from the Pelicans.

Furthermore, Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday are going to own what’s left of a young and undersized Heat backcourt as well. Coming off a game last night is going to hurt both teams, but it’s going to hurt the Heat even more, who are playing with a short bench.
